definitely the opposite sex[boys]...they are not judgmental and we have the same interests..(i'm not lesbian)girls are always gossiping about their crushes..

Trust me, you will find out what boys are really like in the future, Im guessing your still young; because if you are, you will undertstand what I mean, "All of the boys I've met, theyre lying, cheating, annoying, sociopathic freaks who seem to want to always talk about sex..." Im a guy myself, and I hang about with some right idiots, I had to admit, most people of the male gender are... Well, dumb? lol; Im not your standard type of guy, im just... Me? Im like a gay man, but not gay, I can talk for hours about gossip, listen to girls, understand them and sympathise with them! Its just the way I am, and you will find that most men are the same... No Flaming Topic Starting :-)But yeah, my best friend is female... Win!

If I understand the question correctly, I think guys make the best friends because they are unattached to how you feel and answer your questions honestly. Their bluntness is much more beneficial than a girl who bends the truth and tells you what you want to hear.

I'd have to agree with your analysis. Problem is, a lot of the girls that I've known would tend to disagree with the "much more beneficial" part... Yeah, I found that out for myself :PBut even so, my best (maybe?) friend is a girl - although not girlFRIEND. Empathic tendencies ftw...

well gender doesn't matter as long as you get along with but for discussion's sake then i like having a gay friend 'cause they're so fun to be with and there's not a single time where you'll just stare at each other. :gs:

For me, I can go both ways. So long I can find something in common, I can easily be best buds. But most of the time, same gender.

Ooo I must admit you have aroused my curiosity.

Im guessing your still young; because if you are, you will undertstand what I mean,

This seems to be a somewhat patronizing comment. Although that aside I am still curious to see what boys are really like.

"All of the boys I've met, theyre lying, cheating, annoying, sociopathic freaks who seem to want to always talk about sex..."

Disagreed on this point very strongly. Not in the sense that you re wrong bout the boys you have met but rather your assertion that they are representative of all males. Also what I perceive as your implication that this is more of a male trait. You also need to take into account the context of any communication. For instance most guys I talk to are quite interested in talking about issues involving the humanities/social sciences as I am doing a BA.

I don't label any of my friends as "best" friends. Majority of my friends are the same gender but I'm closer to my opposite-gender friends.I don't know why but I get along with guys much better then girls lol.

Three of my best friends are guys, and one of them is a girl, and I'm dating the girl.So I guess I'd say guys. 75% vs 25%

My best friend(s) would be ... both? I have few.My best best friends? I still have two. One's a guy, the other's a girl.Girl = more shopping and discussing girl problemsGuy = more helpfulGirls usually annoy me because there's just too much drama.Guys are better, but I can't live without a girl best friend either.[I did not answer the question apparently..lol]

I think that if your confident then you'll find that your closer friends are of the opposite sex because they are actually more interesting, its just a matter of whether you are confident enough to find out ^_^ Most of my closest friends are of the same sex because i'm not supremely confident..

Opposite. In fact, all but two of my close friends are of the opposite gender. I don't really fit in with guys, even nerdy ones, since I'm a bit too feminine at times.Actually, a lot of the times, the male nerds I know can be even more intolerant towards deviation from gender stereotypes than jocks. Maybe they feel like they have to guard what little masculinity they have that much more strongly. Is it that way elsewhere as well?

Most of my friends are of the opposite sex, but that's mostly because they're all friends of the girl I like. :DI still have guy friends, of course.

I have a hard time decided who is my "best" friend. ^_^ As far as I'm concerned, I have six. They are all very dear to me. *heart* But anyway, of the six, only one is the same gender. ^_^ So I guess that answers your question. lol. I don't know why, but I've always gotten along better with guys than with girls. Go figure.

I'm a boy, and most of my friends are girls. I find them easier to get along with usually. However, my being gay could have affected this. :D

I would have to say that my best friend is female, even though she's a pain in the butt sometimes, I couldn't ask for anyone better.
