I hardly ever have female friends. I relate to guys more, plus they don't talk about you and others behind their backs. They are also nicer people (typically) and have better things to do than just paint their nails.

I don't like calling any of my friends best friends. But the ones I tend to trust more with my secrets are of both sexes.I wonder why anyone would want a particular sex to befriend.Does it make you seem uncool if you have a best friend of the opposite sex?Or are you just avoiding the inevitable "OMG you two are totally going out!!11" rumors? :D

I would have to say guy friends because they don't do nearly as many aggravating things as girls.

I don't really have a preferred gender, as to me, a friend's a friend. That said, there was one point in my life where I was friends with more girls than I was with guys.

I am okay with both genders as friends. However, I would go with the males like myself because I can understand what they are talking about sometimes. There are also topic I feel can only be discussed with only guys. It is funny to talk about it with the females though to some degree.

I'm female but have always had mostly male friends. I'm more of a tomboy so would rather be doing guy things. I really don't care for shopping or discussing boys and such like a lot of my female friends do. Would rather be gaming or watching bsg.

For me, it doesn't matter what gender a person is. However, I do have more male friends.

I think that the gender doesn't mater in questions of "Best" friend.I had have male ones and female ones, I doesn't distinguish them for their sex, but in the meaning they have for me, how much trust we share and how much I care for them etc.Actually I my best friend is male, and we are friends since we were seven years old (I'm almost 25 now). In this time he have been my best friend for most of it, but some times we could say he "share the title" with one girl. The mater concerning being male and having female friends it's that some times the things get "complicated" and the "friendship" gets mixed up with something else. So I think that is difficult to have a female best friend, but it's possible :)

Most of my close friends are guys, except for a few select girls. I seem to get along with guys better. Less drama, I guess.

My best friends are guys and I hang out with them alot because we have similar interest, games etc. I also hang out with girls but its just a little different because of their moody behavior sometimes and not able to take jokes most of the time
