My best friend since, well, as far back as I can remember has been female.Was one of those "My mother knew her mother and we were always together" deals.Hooray for Childhood friends.

My favorite/closest friends were almost always female.I am male with many male friends, but the ones I am closer to are the females.

As far as best friend, i'd have to go with male (I'm male), cuz there's just some things I can talk bout with another guy that I can't with a girl. Although, female friends are worth almost triple what guy friends are... hahaha.

i have a few best friends but the ratio of guys to girls tells me that i tend to get along better with guys than girls, i guess they're just easier to talk to and more fun to be with for me

neither just a bunch of ppl of either sex coming to my house eating all my food and pretending they have no idea what happened to my red vines T.T though I guess I get along better with guys since they don't hit me as much as the females

You know, I wouldn't mind seeing a poll at this. My best friend is of the same gender. Although, he has a twin sister, and apparently I might have more in common with her than him. Strange how that works.

Both my best real life and online friend are male. Not sure why, we just seem to match better. I have a few cool female friends, but they just don't match up to my bros.

Well it easier to talk to people of the same gender for most. So i guess same gender would be a male to male bonding for me. Though i wouldnt mind talking to a female friend.

Pretty much well said.I have a lot of male friends, however, girls seem to like to talk to me all the time also.Best friend implies your closest friend of the same gender... otherwise it would be girlfriend, for the most part.
