Emulation because you can play games like Super Mario World for the SNES and you dont have to pay to hack a game

The real game has to be best, perfect graphics and the money you spend helps developers make even more games. I always like owning the real game.Emulation on the other hand, its free, beat a free thing? Also gives a good insight into if you want the game or not. Still i say real game is best!

Each is good in it's own ways. You don't have to pay for most ROMs or emulators. If you don't have a laptop, they are not portable like handheld consoles. Some Roms ahave Anti-Piracy methods though and that can be a bummer if you don't know how to get around it. Most roms can also be Patched.Having the pysical copy of the game helps the developers make more games with the money. Therefore if everybody used ROMs then we wouldn't be able to play any new games, as the developers would have no income.

In order to keep the industry afloat, everyone who plays a ROM must do one of three things:1. Only download a ROM of a game you can't get in your country. For example, Americans who want to play [i[Terranigma[/i], can't because it's not in their country and isn't published anymore. I don't see how downloading a ROM is any different in this particular case to buying a second-hand copy of the game.2. Download a ROM of a game you already own. This is acceptable if you're rubbish. You can use the emulator's natural settings to create save states, thus allowing you to do over bits far more quickly than you would be able to do in a real game.3. Use a ROM as an evaluation copy. Afterwards, buy a real copy of the game.

I think real gba is actually better than emulation. I mean, it's just felt more real. In Emulator, we can restart as we like, use cheats, gamesharks, etc. It just doesn't feel real anymore.

I like emulation for playing those hard to find games or games that used batteries and the battery is/going to die soon. I like hands on gaming if it requires special cotrollers or is hard to emulate

I vote emulation, only because I can't find the games I download (or I don't have the system anymore). If I find the game in a store (which I rarely do) I play it on the system.

I prefer the real thing over the emulator. But lately, I've been using emulators, since my GBA SP is deep in my attic, and I don't like to go up there....not since the barn owl with the freaky yellow eyes and screech got in there a few years ago. Who knows what's up there, now?! :)

I like emulation better, because you dont need to byt the guy the game and you can speed through the borring parts and save states to see what happens next and then jump back

I agree, who would want to pick the real game when you have to buy it against emulation that is free.

I don't really prefer one over the other, but I find emulation to be more convenient.

The real versions are better in my opinion. Plus the handheld consoles its easier to "get comfy" while playing them because you don't need to be on a computer. Also with the real games you can be more competitive, pokemon for example; with the real games you can trade/battle with other people you know, and that makes the real versions much more beneficial in my eyes; granted i am poor so that's why I play the emulations.

Emulator because they are free and i am cheap :fun:. I like playing most of my games on computers and not really into having a console or handheld. It does not take personal space only rams space so that another plus to it.

well with emulation you have the ability to save whenever, and also go back by hitting backspace and go back 5 secconds if ur teammate dies, but console has the controller thats meant for the controlls, and also there is no chance of ur system being slowed (like with Jap PS2 games emulated on pc)im not sure really...

If you use a program like JoyToKey, then you can play the emulations quite easily with a wired Xbox 360 controller. Because of JoyToKey, I greatly prefer emulations, which I can enjoy for free..

The real game is always going to be better than an emulator. Emulators should be for games that don't exist in your region.

although emulation is much more pratical and cheaper, i still prefer real games, i think the feeling is totally different playing on emulation and on a real console, i think that with a real console u feel more of the heat of the game, and there is less risk to appear a bug or a malfunction, if so, u just go to the store and trade for another good one XD, on emulators, u either need to get another emulator or to find another rom compatible, which gives more work in my opinion -.-

Real games are better because they run smoother and generally no system errors.

Well I think I'll go with emulation. I love old games and emulation is the closest resource I have to play those old games.
