Yes, you have to download some driver for your computer. Microsoft probably has it. Check with them.

i'm not sure how you do it but i know you can either get an official driver for microsoft or something like that to play games on your PC (the only one i know you can play FOR SURE is WoW, because I have seen ads that say you can play it with your 360 controller). you can also probably download third-party drivers or mad hax, but i'm not sure if that would be a better way to go or not depending on what microsoft has.also, i know that they sell 360 controllers at the electronics stores in the PC section - they come in a different package, but i'm not sure if that's because they include something else with them that you need or if they are just packaged differently for the sake of it.

Whenever you plug the control in the first time it will give you a link or choose to auto download the patch. I use my control for alot of pc games.

Most definitely not a rumor. I've had a wired 360 controller for over a year now that I use for some of my older PC games that just work better with a gamepad. Bought it at Best Buy and it came with a CD containing the drivers. It didn't really need the CD, though, since it's easier to just let Windows do the driver install. As for the wireless receivers... I've heard of them. If I remember correctly, they're so you can use any wireless 360 peripheral (racing wheel, wireless controller, ect) with your PC.

Yeah, you just need the wired one (or the wireless charger kit). Just plug it in and play. I think Microsoft actually sells them as PC controllers too (I saw them in best buy, near the PC gaming stuff).

As someone else said, there are some controllers offered on Club Live as prizes. They're wireless, and they have a USB receiver so you can use them on the PC.

Although you may be able to plug it in through a USB port it still does not work. you need to download some kind of driver that i am completely lost on where to get it from

Sorry guys i have come to correct myself. I plugged my controller into my windows xp computer. Instantly the computer went to microsoft.com and searched for the software. then it automatically installed it.
