I would take both; I can launch strategies more easily with turns, yet if time is plentiful, I can pull off strategies just as easily.

I like both but if I had to choose I would choose turn based because I can take my time and think of my moves.

Idk, I don't really dig the whole strategy thing. It feels so.... hypocritical. but I think I'd take rts, it's more realistic and I don't have to sit there waiting for some goober to pick a choice.

Real time strategy, turn based are pretty unrealistic and sometimes boring. In real life I'm not going to wait for you to hit me b4 I whack you over the head... >_>Real time strategy, turn based are pretty unrealistic and sometimes boring. I'm starting to like real time strategy more and more. Turn-based was nice 10 years ago, but now that technology has improved to the point where real time strategy is more logical. I mean, come on, a bad guy wouldn't wait for you to heal up, would he? He would just kick you while you're down. So, you have to rely more than just strength and magical power...you also have to rely on dexterity.

Turn-based, coz I prefer to make great defences and collect turn in the process than ATTACK with all the turns that I have..HAHA

i prefer turn based (i play the fire emblem games) because you can plan your moves befor you do them and there is less chance of being caught with your metaphorical pants down. but i do like the chalange that real time presents :D

real time i find turn based so slow and theres really no skill to it your always going to get a shot back but in real time if youre really good you can block or stop others from being able to hit you

i dont mind turns because it gives me plenty of time to strategize, but real time is way more fun and it forces you to think on your feet.

It all depends on the game for me. I still love starcraft, I play it regularly. But I also don't mind turn based games either where I get to plan out my next three moves while the other person is taking their turn.

Always turn-based, too stressful otherwise.

Turn based RPGs hands down. I think it takes a special breed of person to play RTS's all the time. Well enough to get really good, I love star craft but Im not amazing. They are two cmopletely different kinds of games though too.

I like turn-based better then real time. real time barely gives you much time to think before you're getting attacked from all sides, then the next that happens is, you panic, go to use a heal or something, click the wrong thing or use the wrong thing, then you're dead. Of course it depends on how fast the game is going. Turn based gives you more time to think though without worrying, Like, who needs this, what is that weak against, where should these go and the like. Though real-time does work for certain games, but it also depends on the person playing the game so. but like I said, I personally like turn-based more.

I'd have to go with real-time strategy. The main draw is the resource managing and juggling of many different aspects of the game under pressure, I'd think.

turn based definitely.i've got nothing against real time actually, but the way it works is that game dev tried to simplify everything (and often overdoing it) and when it comes to real time games they generally strip down the game mechanics down to bare minimum under the reasoning that in real time people have a hard time as it is juggling all the information at once.as plog said, resource managing is a central focus in most real time, to be honest i hated that idea. Not because it's stupid in my mindset but because i do not see the draw from managing how much bloody oil is flowing or ore, or tiberium, or gold, or whatever... they are all the same thing. Turn based often had players dealing with things like unit placement, unit facing, elevation, gun types, etc... the kind of STUFF that i expect i should be worried about in a fight.that's changing a bit lately with real time starting to employ unit facing as a game factor to consider, which is good but still not enough to me.until real time starts giving me some more serious tactical options i will stick with good turn based.and for the record, NO... world in conflict does NOT constitutes tactical combat in the slightest. It has armor facing, that's IT. Yes it doesn't use base building concept but the rest of the gameplay is identical to other RTS just like it's predecessor ground control. It's still a twitch game at heart and the inclusion of their "tactical AID" does not make it any more TACTICAL at all since the aid behaves like a standard fare super weapon in most RTS. Someone need a lesson on what tactical means in the studio. I see a god damn sea-knight chopper flying straight on top of 6 anti aircraft battery and drop a tank in front of me and i can't shoot the damn heli... yeah right.

I believe turn time allows users to apply strategy much better than real time. I'm decent at both, and it seems like all you have to do with real time strategy game is be the best resource hog.
