i love FireRed and LeafGreen because they are the old ones revamped and i dont know anything about any of the new pokemon.. i just started playing Emerald... and its pretty good but i dont know what pokemon are really good or not hahaha.

Well, in the times that I did play pokemon, I liked blue version the best. Common, let's stick to the simplicity. Everything like Ruby and Emerald and FireRed is all crap. They're just giving you new places to walk, and once you understand the concept that pokemon games can be made at home right at your own computer, it gets seriously boring.

i personally liked red and blue. they were the best to me as they were the original.. once they started making all the new versions it became too repetitive for me and got old.

It pains me to choose one but my favorite (that I've played) is Leaf Green. It barely edges over Yellow.

I must to say that Crystal is my best. It joined at its time all the previous games, and make me feel more challenged battling with all the Jhoto and Kanto Trainers and most: with Blue and Red by themselves!!! Emerald have taken us in a more involving game with all those EV points. (My best was an upgrading to my Blaziken with an +18 in the speed stat B) ), but the game really didn't gave us nothing new: Just was another recopilatory game.

Gold/Silver mix! I think that one was the most revolutionary... if you ignore the very first Pokemon games for coming up with the concept... plus, I found those versions more interesting than the ones that came after. The sprites were bright and colourful, and so what if the water didn't reflect? The new ones look so... plastic. I want Pokemon in crayons, not in such bland colours.... and plus, I got more of a kick out of playing Gold/Silver. The new ones just seem to bore me, no matter whatever new stuff they add on. Couldn't they have stuck with the basic formula?

Crystal, i loved the changes between gold and silver, from red and blue, but crystal was a gold/silver PLUS, ruby, sapphire, and emerald, were ok, and i liked a few of the new pokemon they added, (Blaziken!), and fire red/leaf green were decent, and added the sevii islands, and diamond/pearl look like they will be good, but im still waiting to see a redo of johto, and reincarnations of gold, silver, and crystal...

I liked Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal the most. Probably because that's the only one I've played and finished completely and owned as an actual game. I've played others, but never really got into them. I'm also hoping for a remake of Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal on the GBA. If they did one for Pokemon Blue/Red, why not Gold/Silver/Crystal?

I would definitely say that the Gold/Silver versions were my favorites. Although the Red/Blue/Yellow versions were absolutely awesome time-munchers as well, I can honestly say that I enjoyed many of the later additions to the game more than I like the idea of being a classicist. Also, Gold has most of my favorite pokemon available to catch; Silk Spitters, Rock Titans, Doom Birds, Metal Mantes, Oh My.I also own Emerald, and can say that I have enjoyed it, but what blows me away is that I can't trade with my old save game from Gold. Seriously, what the heck were they thinking of with that? You are also not able to visit the world from previous games like Gold version allowed. Finally, the last problem I have with Emerald is that some of the areas must be unlocked through real-life events. This doesn't mean that the game was bad compared to the other ones -it did have a lot of new content, and some more in-depth training mechanisms compared to older games- but it simply did not provide what I expected from earlier "updates" to the series.

pokemon yellow is the best version in my opinion, especially because u have a picachu following you arround! and you can obtain all the other 3 starter pokemons unlike its red and blue counterpart
