Guitar Hero is just an awful game period. it's like DDR for fat, lazy kids who don't want to stand or can't play real instruments.*Puts up flame shield*

I've seen more fat kids playing DDR than I've seen playing Guitar Hero

I prefer Guitar Hero, the timing in DDR seems off.

Okay first of all DDR isnt real dancing and Guitar isnt real guitar playing. So the whole button mashing works for both. You just press them with your fingers instead of your feet. I myself like GH because it has much better songs and you dont get sweaty and nasty after playing 5 minutes of it.

I own both; and I'd say that I prefer Gh3 over DDR. DDR's Hottest Party has some really lame songs compared to those chosen in the past.

Hah, just like you can imagine you're actually dancing while playing DDR. These two rhythm games have absolutely no connection to either dancing or guitar. In fact, my friends and I made our own little observation and found that people that are really bad dancers or hate dancing (such as myself) tend to be good at DDR. I'd classify DDR as being closer to "super- extreme running in place."Out of every game I've ever owned, I haven't found one that was as good as Stepmania, to tell the truth. I've been with it since 3.9 first came out and I still play an hour or two every day. To me, Guitar Hero is just meh. I don't like that you don't get judgment on your note. DDR will not let you get away with hitting a little too early or too late; it will give you a Good instead and break your combo. Guitar Hero doesn't care about this. As long as you hit the note, your combo keeps going, and this is one of the main reasons that I find Guitar Hero to be less fun than DDR. I also hate that Guitar Hero takes off points for hitting a note when there's nothing there. I mean, I know it makes sense, but as a DDR player, my mindset is "if you get disoriented, mash buttons until you get back on track."

DDR for the win. guitar hero just isnt that great because its so limited whereas DDR changes one every other month and has been doing so for like at least the past few years.

I prefer DDR for the sheer number of games/songs they've put out right now, but few things beat a good Guitar Hero jam with your buddies on a saturday night when you all want to relax.

i'd say guitar hero 3... playing DDR on a home console is just too easy... like playing expert on wii DDR is like light difficulty in the arcades.

One thing to the OP, there are other Guitar Hero games other than 3 >_>A few years ago, I would have said Guitar Hero, but since Neversoft got their hands on it, GH has gotten progressively worse. World Tour proves that, with a horrible UI and setlist. Harmonix have stayed true to a tried and tested formula, without throwing a bunch of new ideas at the series and just hoping that they work, a la Neversoft. I still prefer GH/RB soundtracks to those of the DDR games, just because the music that they come with doesn't really appeal to me. Of course, it's always fun going to the arcade and dancing on some DDR with friends just for laughs, but I can take RB/GH much more seriously as video games. Also, as a response to Shadow's post (even though it's been over 8 months), if the only problem you have with GH is the lack of accuracy judgement, maybe you'd prefer Frets on Fire MFH FoFiX/Alarian Mod. It's essentialy Guitar Hero for PC, but you can have it judge your notes. Here's an example: http://www.youtube.c...feature=relatedYou can read about it and download it here: http://fretsonfire.w.../ds-alarian-mod

Both are great, but...Guitar Hero is more portable, while as you get a better workout in DDR.I prefer GH3, however. Maybe that's because I'm good at it XP
