I think some good dialogue would have really livened up Tetris.Hell, in my oppinion, all characters should speak in turntable like the King of All Cosmos.

yeah, link from the zelda series... sometimes i like it, but sometimes it's annoying. it's just gone on for so long now i'm not sure if adding a voice would be good or bad. i think it would ruin some of the mystery and loner quality he has lol.

Not sure if I mind that at all, since I've played both (like Golden Sun Isaac is mute) and Fire Emblem where the main characters are very well involved in the conversations. Not sure why it would be a big deal if the game story is great, maybe the player could relate a little bit better with the "hero" if he / she spoke on her own but.. Nah.

Hm... I think the point of role playing games is to let you become the character. That's why you can rename them and they don't talk. I don't really like that because to make the story more authentic you should have a character that is active and not silent all the time. Besides, the characters never look like me and the circumstances are way to fictional.

When I first played the Persona games I was really annoyed that the main character didn't talk. After a few hours it started to make sense and it didn't really bother me that much anymore. So basically now it does not bother me.

i like some games in where character talks or narrates. but in some games just let everyone else talk so you can get on with whatever you were doing quickly. :(

Personally, I kind of like the silent hero types. Like, when I play Legend of Zelda, I don't think Link would seem too cool if he all of the sudden muttered "Darn it! Not another dungeon! And why am I carrying such a lame musical instrument that nobody even plays? Give me a sweet Violin or something, not a Pan Flute!" But, at the same time, as Ragnarok DS has proven, having the main character talk could have it's amusing moments. So, I say it's still up in the air but, I still say silence is golden! ^.^

An active character is sometimes essential, like in Ratchet and Clank, but in Zelda, Link is best when he's silent.

i prefer it there is a little bit of talkiing as it can help to instruct you wherever you go however if the character doesnt talk than thats still fine too.

I can't say I don't like because the gameplay was good, the graphics are ok, and it kept my interest on it long enough to beat it despite no voices.

Yea it gets annoying there was one game where the protagonist was actually mute though, that was cool (he made a pact with a dragon and lost the ability to speak) drakenguard I think it was

I'm fine if the character doesn't talk though I do enjoy the game more if the character had a life.

Well in the The Legend of Zelda series, link never talks and nobody complains about that, and in Half Life is the same history, Gordon Freeman never talks and it doesnt bother me.

I think it is great. Especially when a silent protagonist communicates through body language alone. That can be more expressive than words. Sometimes in real life I go a long time without talking yet still interacting normally with people and I think "I'm just like Link, Gordon Freeman, etc." except without the awesome adventures. And the pants-crapping terror.
