i like most of the unit types but my favorite would have to go to thief/assassin because when the thief turns into an assassin he becomes one of the best (to me) damage givers because his crit chances are so good

In FE 6 and 7 I really liked the mages, especially the druid in 7, I think his name was Canas but its been a while.I'm playing 6 rightnow and my level 9 sage Lugh has something like 26 magic and 23 speed, which are retardedly close to his max so he's my favourite sage so far.In 8 I really liked the trainees  but if thats cheating I'd have to say the Paladins in that game were usually really good. And in 9 and 10 its hard to say which unit was superior, but mages tended to BLOW.

Druids are my favorite, they have a pretty great critical hit animation as well as the use of Anima, Dark, and staves; near perfect magic users to me.

I already posted my favourtite units but you do know that its only in FE8 (IIRC) that they can also use anima magic right? I'm 99% sure that in every other Fire Emblem they're limited to dark magic and staves. I could be wrong though.

Assassins, Sage and Bishop. In Sacred Stones, I worked on Saleh and Artur, then put them in the front line. They can dodge almost everything and their counterattack unstoppable. Sent them together, they could heal each other and wipe out numbers of enemies.

Paladins are the top-notch unit of the game, besides lords, of course. They have great HP, great movement, great weapon mastery and in most cases you can send them in the middle of the battle and they'll come back alive. Heroes are great too, similar to paladins but without high movement. A lot more powerful, though.

definitely assasins after seeing jaffar at play i knew that assasins were for me! they do crazy damage, high critical rates even without a critical weapon, almost always double attack, and they look and attack cooly!

I've always loved Nomads. I was upset that they took them out for FE8. Rangers are just not the same. :-(

The Knights were always my F.E favourite! (Cuz they're all-rounded in attack/defence/movement/weapon etc).I also like the Normads and Hero Units, they're so cool! (Normads because they're equiped with bows and can move around better then archers and Hero units cuz they take out a lot of damage and good defence). Also I agree with the other person that said that the rangers are not the same compared to the normads (Since they were replaced in F.E The Sacred Stones).

Mounted units are useful because they can move twice in the later games. Yet I always use dancers/bard/heron in my troup. I tend to favor bishops too.

Overall I just use the same classes over for the same reasons.Pegasus/Falco Knights- one of the best movement in the entire game letting you completely take an enemy out before they can get chance to even target you. And Triangle attack is almost instant kill.Mage/Sage- Again great movement distance and the ability to attack 1-2 Radius making so they can take almost any type of unit out. And Sages later can use staffs to heal. Physics making them completely overpowered. Nomad/Nomadic Trooper-Great accuracy and great speed letting them double hit almost every enemy. Just equip them with a Killer bow for natural use and Longbow to take out almost any class, and due to their high speed there is a chance you could even pull a double attack with them. Or give them a brave bow and watch as they complete 4 hits.

Well, depends on the situation, but I have three favourites in general:Myrmidon/Swordmaster: Just an epic class, especially in TSS (Joshua! w00t!) where equip a Killing Edge and watch all fall before them!Mage/Sage: Again, epic (and again, TSS reference) with Artur after promotion = killing/death-dealing machine!Wyvern Knight/Lord: My favourite mounted/flying class and with the ever-popular sword-lance combo (as a Lord) they deal tons of damage, quick.

the upgraded pegasus knight was my best friend. I loved the assassin, but it was just too easy to kill things with him, and without the killing edge sometimes he can be pretty weak.

From a gameplay perspective? I have to go with Sword Master for on foot, due to their high speed and critical rate, meaning nameless enemies will rarely get a chance to attack. Flying, as far as practical use goes, I've never really been a fan of them, besides the Manakete obviously. Now mounted, I have to go with the great knight, since its always nice to have a unit that can bulldoze through the front line without too much hassle. From a personal perspective? The Hero unit has always had a place in my heart, they usually look fairly cool and have a rather showy combo, which I like. For the mounted units, I rather like Troopers and Rangers, for similar reasons to my liking of the Heroes, plus the fact they possibly have the toughest horses ever, seeing as they can survive dropping down hard next to an enemy while their rider swings a sword. For Flying, gotta respect the Wyvern Lords, what with the fact they are knights who ride dragons and all.
