Is the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise dead?

It really does appear to be dying / dead. But I hope that Japan may actually pull it out of this slump in a few years. I miss the days of Sonic Adventure

They have a lot of ground to make up. Sonic heroes was pretty bad, but I feel that sonic riders was mad from the same stuff that comes out of ... well I won't finish that sentence. But if it's possible Sonic and the Secret Rings was even worse than that!!

as far as sonic goes its dead for the most part i think the only hope left for it is the actual diehard sonic fans or they come out with a few good games fast

yea i believe its dead now... i mean they remade the dreamcast ver of sonic to gamecube and made shadow the hedgehodge..

It was alive and real shiny until Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, a great game, one of the best, but after that it is declining

Well, the franchise definitly isn't dead. But the newer games are nowhere near as good as the old ones. Sonic 1 and 2 were my faves, and I have them both on the PS2 Sonic Mega Collection Plus.
