Its not like MewTwo was an unbeatable Pokemon. He was just like all the others except really strong. I cant see how he is so called "cheap". Catching Mewtwo wasnt for a stronger party it was to help fill the Pokedex. If it was meant to be an amazing Pokemon to help you beat the Elite Four and stuff, they would let you get it earlier in the game. Yeah, thats just my two cents on why Mewtwo isnt cheap.

I agree. You can beat MewTwo, its not like he's invincible. If your considering him to be cheap because he's a Legendary/1 of a kind/Movie Star then sure... I guess. Although my definition of cheap is: "No weaknesses, inifinite PP, has an instant KO move (probably doesn't exist atleast not in B/R/Y/), impossible to beat."

Lol, I don't think that Mewtwo is all that cheap... Mew on the other hand could be classified as cheap. Imagine having 6 Mews with all different movesets... You could cream any Pokemon team unless your opponent caught those pokemon over lvl100.

I think Mewtwo (which I've never had the luck or fortune to get) would be okay as an 'important' Pokemon to use, but I'd prefer the normal way. Normal Pokemon that you can catch, train and breed.

There are two levers for moving men, interest and fear.
Men are more easily governed through their vices than their virtues.

I personally had no qualms using Mewtwo, only if I were in a pinch.

Mewtwo is cheap, but very powerful. Mew can learn ANY move, though.

IMO, there is no way to be "cheap" when playing a game unless you're delibrately exploiting a glitch in the game. Mewtwo was put in the game for a reason, so that people will catch and use it.

it's a good pokemon if you want to battle and win... but i think that there are a lot of more interesting pokemons with other pros (like scizor has awful attacks but cool looking)

mewtwo is definitely a cheat pokemon cause cmon.......its mewtwo.....do you look at his stats and like he seems to beat every pokemon that he fights.....sometimes it gets on my nerves.......it takes away from the battle experience.

I never liked mewtwo, preferred mew since it was the "real" one & mewtwo was the "clone".

Back in the day of red and blue (when physic was king for the most part) mewtwo was overpowered. Nowadays with the advent of dark type mewtwo can be considered a little less cheap. Still super strong, but at least it is not considered a cheat. So no, I think mewtwo is legit. More so then mew (which I have to glitch to get).

I think that Mewtwo is legit only because of how hard he was to get. Without the master ball it was almost impossible! Also, he was really really fun to use.

i think he would have been better if he wasn't such a high lvl, i don't like it when they make them crazy high lvls and have abilities that you can't learn because of it. if you could get him sooner in the game, so there would actually be a reason to use him, that would have been nice too :)

Competitive Pokémon prohibits Mewtwo just because he makes the game revolve around him. If you're allowed to break the no-Mewtwo rule (or the species clause, for that matter), everybody on your team either has to be Mewtwo or, like, Chansey. Nobody even comes close to Mewtwo in his ridiculous power, not even Mew, so the game just devolves into who can use Mewtwo the best. If we ban him and Mew, then we enter a game where many more Pokémon are viable. There are still overpowered Pokémon - Exeggutor comes to mind - but they're manageable and there are plenty of ways to counter them. It opens the door for other Pokémon to join the party and that's more fun, right?

mewtwo was powerful that time cuz psychic was weak against bug type which almost never used and they fixed psychic's power by puttin a new element introduce in g/s/c which was dark and was use for fighting psychic, but mewtwo is still powerful just not as powerful as before

mewtwo is pretty cheap even if he's awfully powerfull there's no point because you can't make a good strategy with his attacks not even if you use TM's

Cheap. Cheap. Cheap.Mewtwo is an Uber Tier Pokemon - something reserved (rightly so) for Legendaries and a very few others, and rightly so. Its stats were ridiculously scaled, it was too strong if you ask me, and it could floor most suckers in not time flat.Plus you met it at Level 70, conveniently better than anything else (that wasn't yours potentially) in the game.At least he was at Level 70, and not something like 30, where you could level him up and actually get decent movesm resulting in a Game-Winner at around level 50...
