at gamespot, they say theres gonna be a new sonic game this fall ( maybe) its called shadow the hedgehog. By what i saw on the offical trailer, its like sonic adventure 1, but with more stuff, if your wondering why its rated T, its cause of shadow's new weapon : a gun :guns: :guns: Some people say its a good addition, some say its bad. anyway, heres the link to the news right here i havent found out about multiplayer ( maybe theres none...)

What the hell? Is Sega this desperate they need to add guns in Sonic games? I don't like this addition. Can't we play old games the old way without having to shoot a couple of heads in the process? If this is the new way Sonic is taking, I'm not following.

This is sad as hell. Sonic Team have completely lost all credibility in my eyes now. They absoloutly killed Sonic with the past games, especially Sonic Heroes, which was the epitome of medicore, and now it's like they're beating his lifeless corpse.Shadow.. I mean SHADOW. First of all, he's a terrible character. I mean absoloutly god awful. They tried to make Sonic more popular, so they make him black, and very, very angsty. That in know way makes him cool.Secondly.. the main fault with the recent Sonic games is that, well. Where is Sonic? people are wanting a PROPER Sonic game where you can actually play as Sonic, without having to play as all these other characters doing stupid mini games. *cough* treasure hunting *cough*Plus the game looks almost exactly the same as Sonic Advevnture 2, where they that lazy they can't even take the time to make a new engine. or enviornment? or do anything original in the slightest?and they give him a gun.. WTF! this is them really appealing to the mass market now. I'm half expecting there to be mini games where you ride in a car and preform drive-by's to defeat the bosses.They should have left Shadow to burn to death in the atmosphere.Sonic Team is dead in my eyes.

I have mixed fellings about this...I don't like the idea of Shadow with a gun, and no Sonic in it...Yet, the game interests me...I'll rent it first to check it out.

Shadow was not a terrible character. HE saved SA2 in my opnion. THen again, That part is an opinion.As for the engine part, why aren't you raggin on the original ones? Run from point A to point B. The same here. The problem is that 3d cannot recreate the speed of the 2d ones. That's why they have to do something elseIn short, everyone shut up before we know more about this game. Game-makers lose my support when they put things like guns in classicsi mean mario doesn't have a gun( unless you count the flower) and its perfect. sure metroid has a gun in it but thats how it came out it wasn't changed and the thing they could to mess up metroid is put her naked

I never really liked Shadow, although he's more 'evil'. Which is usually what I go for. But, he looks like a ripped off version of Sonic, different colours, whoopee. It sounds like a bad idea, in my opinion. Also, why would you give classic characters a modern weapon? They ruined it with similar new characters and modern weapons. I perfectly enjoyed Tails, Knuckles and Sonic. A nice trio, but I don't really like the villians. In my opinion, I think they should have had 'animal' type of enemies. Perhaps, a fox, cat, panther even. But, a human? At least it didn't ruin it entirely. It killed some of the environment, but it changed it both positively and negatively. Now, a recommendation. An RPG, you guys may not like it - but I think it might even save the Sonic Games. It did with Mario (Super Mario RPG). A similar system, with the Sonic characters. Hell, even include Shadow - and make him like a Bowser. You could even create new characters, granted they aren't copies of other characters with a colour and attitude change.-Meph

Saw this before not to long ago. Personaly, to me it just looks like a gimmick. Not to innovative. Segas getting desprete, bringing out shadow and trying to milk the character for all it's worth. Wonder what kind of crap segas smoking. Of course it's going to sell, but it's not going to be very GOOD, methinks. Personaly i think sega should have tried to revive the old school gaming but with a 3d style, think kinda viewtiful joe side scrollingish, but with the sonic level design. But thats just me. :whistle2:

A gun? You call that a GUN?When you think about how damn powerful Shadow was its rather silly to hand him a gun to shoot with when he could very much punch massive holes through stuff instead... And if it is a must in game developments at least give him a bigger gun!! The silly little peashooter I saw on the trailer seems a bit crap.. and I just realised I'm ranting again (my bad!)It does seem that Sonic has gone down the drain with this and the oncoming DS game....

poor poor sega...release a couple poorly timed consoles and everything goes down the toilet. I really think sonic and friends could use a transition BACK to 2D. 3D doesnt really agree with speed. hopefully this shadow game can beat sonic heros... but it can only get as good as sonic adventure 1/2 and that wasnt that great...

If sega goes for the old skool style of running like crazy in Sonic games, with no stupid abilities/team work or other crap like that, then thowz games will actually sell like crazy! Sega's BIG mistake was in trying to upgrade Sonic games, like creating a lot of useless and anoying characters, the team work thingie os sonic heroes that the other 2 characters follow you like parasites, and so on...Better to make a game with only Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, you choose your character and start running on the stages, simple. Give it good 3d backgrounds and the game is all in 2d-like, pretty much like vieutifull joe... ... if Sega makes this it'll sell, hell yea.

I don't think the Sonic games need guns, I am a big fan of the Sonic games and they have never needed guns to win in anything, it is sopposed to be a game for all ages but slapping some weaponry on there is going to lose them some little kids that wanna play some Sonic. If Shadow is the only character it would be kind of weird aswell. What's a sonic game without Sonic and the rest of the team. I think they are taking a much darker path down gaming lane, hopefully it turns out ok though. I am still goign to buy it most likely, but if Shadow is going to replace Sonic as Sega's mascot then we must rebel!

what bullcrap. Come on. And that little gun destroys like massive amounts of people? Or was that a different one...might have been. In any case, this was a horrible idea. I am really feeling the viewtiful joe-escue Sonic game idea though. I might kinda be sad if Sonic goes back to 2D though. I liked to watch the cutscenes, especially in Sonic Heroes (even if there were so few and kinda corny).
