As long as it makes money, they'll keep making games.Which probably means the radioactive cockroaches will be waiting for their copy of FF XLVI: The trip to the store.

I think final fantasy won't ever end until the company goes bankrupt which will be a very long time later.

I don't think there's much to worry about, it will probably take Japan sinking into the ocean to end this series. Square/Enix is one of the strongest gaming companies in Japan, and Final Fantasy is one of the strongest gaming brands. There would be riots if they just decided to stop. People would DIE

As a Final Fantasy fanatic, it is definitely in my best wishes that the fantasy will not end.Sure there are other RPGs which probably have better battle systems, are more realistic, or have some other appealing factor, but Final Fantasy just seems to have the epic feel to it, especially in recent installments. Despite most RPGs having the same theme of "saving the world", none of them seem to do it like Final Fantasy does. I'm not saying that it is perfect, but there is nothing quite like it. Although, I'd like to say that I wish they really stop milking the franchise to such a strong extent. I mean, direct sequels and prequels are nice and all, but there's got to be a limit. FF VII, FF VII Before Crisis, FF VII Crisis Core, FF VII Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, and what's this I'm hearing about a FF VII Advent Children COMPLETE? It's my favourite installment of Final Fantasy, but please, just stop already.

Each Fantasy is more Final than the last. Wait, that didn't make sense, did it?

I personally love the FF series but I too feel like Square Enix is trying to abuse a good thing now. Of course I must admit that I am not a fan of paying for online gaming (which is a requirement for the later series).

Well Final fantasy has been doing great for the past few years, what with 11 being a popular mmo and with 13 and all ots hupe.Im guessing it'll still be here come 10 years.

Don't quote me on this, but I heard through the grapevine that FF XIII is supposed to be the "final" numbered game. That doesn't mean they won't put out more sequels or "Mythic Quests" and "Legends" (and yes I enjoy using "").

Sorry, I just had to quote you :D Final Fantasy XIII is supposed to "span a decade" and be a " hundred billion yen project."So it makes complete sense that there won't be any FFXIV for quite a while, if ever. It seems like I had also heard somewhere that this would be the final numbered game, but I don't recall where either.Final Fantasy XIII, Agito, Versus, & Haeresis are all part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series. As long as the games are high quality, they can have a FFXXXIII for all I care.

It all depends on how good the games are. If they release like 2 bad games in a row, then i would say its going to stop soon.

What you should be asking, is when the mega man series is going to end :P Megaman has easily twice as many games as FF. I guess people just never get sick of either series because the gameplay is always good, and subtle innovations are made from time to time. I guess they'll stop making them when it's not good for their business.

FF will never end. They'll probably continue with a bunch of spin-offs and go from there. Or they'll continue with Kingdom Hearts

FF doesn't need to end :P I'm really a sucker for almost all of them. Even if it does end in a distant future, it's not anytime soon. Sometimes even the gameplay gets repititive, but the storylines are cool XD

Final Fantasy will never end because it has no reason to, they are so good. Final Fantasy 5 and 7 are 2 of my all time favourite games

The thing about final fantasy that makes it so that it will never end is that the games all have consistently excellent graphics and gameplay. The stories arent connected for the most part, which allows sequels to not get repetitive. It doesnt end, because it evolves just as gaming does.

It will end when sales drop dramatically. That's when most series and franchises come to an end. But for Final Fantasy, every game has a different story and gameplay abeit with similar archetypes, so it gives a player a fresher feeling at playing a new game.

Final Fantasy may seem like it's gone on forever. ...For most of us, it has. But as far as it goes, and as obscure as it gets, they (almost) never fail to deliver. There might be some ill will towards some entries in the series, but I guess I'm one of the few who likes them all. Anyway, as most have said, Final Fantasy will continue to go on until either the directors die and the new ones cancel, the fans tire out of the series, or profits drop. But until then, Final Fantasy will live on indefinitely. And, I, for one, look forward to that. Also, there's already a XIV in the works. It's online, though. Looks 10 times better than XI did.
