if it is, then people must be throwing them hard at the ground. mine doesn't even have a scrach on it, and i've dropped over 20 times!

I've dropped my regular DS plenty of times and it works just fine with a scratch on the case. I'm really careful with my DS lite since it looks like its a bit more fragile.

They look rather sturdy, but I've been hearing lots of complaints about broken hinges, and the top screen nearly falling off. :)

I think the DS lite is more fragile than the original DS. My friend broke his DS lite a week after he bought it because he dropped it, yet I've had my DS for over two years and dropped it several times, but it still works like the day I bought it.

The DS is pretty fragile as it doesn't take much to scratch or break it. PSP is very reliable as it is more sturdily built through

I beg to differ. I've dropped tossed, lost out of pocket from tall ledges, smashed in pocket jumping into moving vehicles, so on and so forth, and the worst issue was one of the hinges breaking, making it open Pacman style. Also, on occasion, noticed a lack in "clickiness" in the r-button. That's it though. Wouldn't trust psp, it's disc driven. I don't care what kind of precautions taken with the umd's, it's no good. Also, friend experiences with psp.Definitely have a not so new paint job. It looked like somebody used my DS to play street hockey.

It's kind of fragile, the hinges and such...but I think my psp is more fragile. I dropped it while it was in it's case once and it stopped working. If I drop my ds though, it continues to work

Its MORE fragile compared to gba and PSP but however, give in the fact that it is touch screen and thus must be more fragile(the touch screen part).

all techno stuff is fragile, so I guess the DS isn't too fragile. Does dropping a cpu break it? I think so

I don't really know. The DS Lite is a bit sturdier than the original DS imo. That's all I can say.

YES, I was playing this game and poked the touch screen too hard. The area around that spot won't sense the stylus anymore.
