i put my ds through a rough time when i took it with me on a trip into the middle of nowhere for a month, and has survived many drops, even a couple of times when I accidentally threw it...

I don't really think the DS is fragile because I've dropped it tons of times but it still works perfectly

You have to take into account which DS you're talking about, of course, but I think the DS Lite is more fragile than, say, any of the Game Boy Advance models. It really depends on what you're comparing its fragility to.

I honestly don't think it's fragile. My friend had a PSP 'n' the screen went broken 'n' the UMD cartridge stopped workin' within 4 months from when he got it.... When I got my DS, I had it for 9 - 10 months until the screen broke..... 'n' I'm a lot more careless 'n' clumsy than him, so I can assure, it definitely dropped a good few times, :).

The toouch screen seems like it can break too easily and you know my friend told me you shouldn't bend the screen back too much

I dont think it's too fragile. Mine's held out fine, and it's a hand me down I bought off of someone really cheap. Nothing wrong with it at all but for some scratches on the front. My Xbf bought a PSP and the screen was demolished in a week. I'd have to say I like the DS much better.

I think it is to fragile, my kids (4 and 9 years old) already have broken 2 DS consoles. I repaired them myself but that takes a lot of time and costly parts.

Speaking of fragile (even though that GameBoy isn't): http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Ln1lfTv69uQ. That really is quite fascinating.Back on topic. Fragile? Hardly. The DS is made out of a sturdy casing, more so than the PSP, and Nintendo's previous casing of the SP. Also, I've noticed that Nintendo's consoles and handhelds have more durability than Sony's, or Microsoft's. If you have all of their previous consoles/handhelds, this should be evident. Of course, if you are irresponsible, or just had some freak accident causing your DS, or any other gaming system to break, it is inevitable the [insert gaming system here] is going to break/get seriously damaged. However, if none of these things happened, or will happen to you, and if you are responsible, the DS, along with the PSP are going to last a lifetime. The delicateness of an item depends on the person. As for me, I'll state it again: the DS is sturdy, and durable, more than the PSP.

I think the DS is fine.I have a Lite, and I'm not the most graceful person in the world, but my DS has still managed to survive thousands of drops.

I dropped my DS about 3-4 times, and some pieces chiped off near the 2 lights. It still works, but the screen flops around a lot :P .

Well no because, the DS is plastic on the outside so it is not fragile when you drop it unless you stand on it or bend it.
