If you're talking about the DS Lite, yes, it's very fragile. Otherwise, the regular DS are just fine and very durable.

I have both a nintendo DS and a PSP and i would say both are quite durable. Although i haven't dropped either many times, when i have nothing has happened. I would assume that the PSP is more durable though because of its design, but who am i to judge XD

Depends on what the specific person thinks of as "fragile", in my opinion, fragile means can dent, scratch, and/or shatter easily, and I dropped my DS once, and it had a dent that never went away, so yes. In my opinion, the DS is too fragile.

For me it depends on how your DS would be damaged of course. You can't tell wheather it might break at its 1st slip from your hand and falls from the ground.

yeah, its pretty fragile, i think because the two heavy screens are supported by only a small connector.

I have the 'first gen' DS and so far its fine, considering its been dropped a gazillion (sp?) times and had coffee and tea spilledon the touch screen. I messed up the calibration but thats another sotry :PMy brother has had his DS lite for less time and his sound has just broke. Turn the sound off and if your unlucky then it will be on full blast ><So I think the DS lites are more fragile :P

my ds lite lasted a year, two months after warranty ended, until i opened it, straight after i ordered final fantasy xii revenant wings, the hinged popped off causing it get repaired by ninty them selves.it was free ( still on waranty), it took a week and i wasnt happy becuse the new screen had a dead pixel.

Scratches, dents, etc are inevitable. But the battery is really durable as I tried it out on my friend's DS.But I won't experiment durability by dropping it from 20 storeys :)

I think my DS is more resilient than a PSP. I've dropped mine a lot and its still okay, and I mean ALOT. I am genuinely clumsy. My friend had a psp and he broke it in a week. It is probably something to do with personal preference.

I don't think that the DS is too fragile. I dropped mine accidently on hard stone two times and it still works perfectly. Just has some scratches.

true, i take mine to work (metalworks shop) and slammed it many times againts hard metal.. i think i even dropped it a couple of times, but it is still fine. It had a couple of dents though, but nothing serious. So I would say it is not *thAt* fragile. on another note(outside our topic), in comparison to the PSP i have which lost the thumbstick(everyone hates the detachable thumbstick) and have a great deep scratch on the plastic covering the screen, the DS have the hardness of a rock. atleast its not easy to scratch the screen of the DS T.T anyone know how to mend a deep scratch? pm me pls.

lol. I hate it when that happens. The DS is too fragile, but what isn't these days? Increasing complexity usually leads to increasing fragility.

I don't know about fragile. But the my DS and the PSP went through hell in my bag, inside a car, in the most hottest day in my country. When I got both out, they were as hot as if I took them out of the oven. The PSP got it's card reader and the card itself fried while the DS was just as fine (but still very hot). So the DS has a higher temperature tolerance than the PSP.

My DS seems to be holding up pretty well. I think it's a sturdy machine.

Well, if you're talking about the lite, then I wouldn't know. But my DS is super strong. I think I've dropped it a total of 7 times, and it's perfectly fine. XD

After two and a half years of having it and dropping it several times, at least half of said several times on solid concrete, my DS is still in perfect condition.

It's a little fragile. The plastic or whatever it's made of wears away easily. I've heard the hinge cracks too.
