No the DS isn't fragile. My DS is still working and I've had it for a while now.

Yes, I dropped it like 2 feet and the hinge broke. It wasn't even on cement or anything, it was on my carpet which is really ing soft.

It's def' not too fragile, just don't be stupid enough to drop it on a concrete floor or something, lol.

The DS is only really fragile as far as the screen goes in my experience. There are a few broken pixels and some scratches, but both are bound to happen.

This thing is made out of Nintendo plastic. I've had it just about run over by cars before and it barely twitches. It's certainly fallen enough that if it was fragile it would've shattered into a million pieces. So far it seems just as tough as my immortal GBA.

Yes it is ! Even though you can purchase protective cases. I wish they make better metal case with rubbery shock absorbent corners. :o

The DS is actually quite durable, from my experience. It does get dirty a bit easily though, and it's hard to clean under the hard plastic exterior.

Hang on a second, which one're we talkin' about here? DS Phat looks like a veritable tank, but the DS Lite looks like a stiff breeze might crack it. Not to mention that whole issue with the crack appearing in the left hand side.

Well i personally think that the DS is too fragile . I dropped it 2 times and it broke .But the PSP is really solid , 9 times and it just has a scratch .

same here mate! i 100% agree!!!!!!

Really? You musta' dropped it at a bad angle or something. My old was dropped 4 or 5 times and only the hinge broke a bit. The color is a bit screwed up sometimes, but the DS still functions quite well.

The DS is pretty much fragile, espacially the light version. I almost broke it like 3 times rather than the PSP, which is as stiff as a rock.

Oooo, I just dropped mine for the first time awhile ago. Scared me though as I dropped it from high distance... it's still working good.

I haven't found the DS to be too fragile, but it's definitely less durable than older systems.

I think my DS is okay. It never broke, but it does have a few scratches on it, mainly because I dropped it. No problem on mine! XD

There are two levers for moving men, interest and fear.
Men are more easily governed through their vices than their virtues.
