³I bought my last year... during this time, without problems... But it's normal....What Nintendo will do?! A DS made by Titan?!...So..don't worry about a thing =p...cause every little thing is gonna be alright =p

I wouldn't say its fragile. But... If it fell a couple of feet it would probably get some damage but not too much damage. That's why I only play my DS (or rather used to) over soft surfaces like carpet or on a chair or on a bed. Somewhere where it wouldn't DIE if it fell.

My son is on his second ds in 18 months, the first was second hand but it was terrible, within weeks the hinge broke, then the touch screen, then the microphone, in the end he used his birthday money and bought a new one.

Got 4 kids all with DS lites plus I have one and 2 ds lites have had hinges break on them just through normal use after a year and a bit. I think that there is definitely a weakness with the hinges on some lites.

Nintendo systems are notoriously solid and hard to break. I have never broken a nintendo system. At the Nintendo store in NY, for example, they have an original Game boy that got caught in a bombing raid; it was in a bunker. The case was all melted, but it played just fine.

But that notoriety ended when DS Lite came out.

i think the PSP is more fragile, but the original gray gameboy, that was practicl invincible, i'd throw that thing and it'd be just fine... i miss those things

Not quite, it is actually very resistent, given I always drop it on hard floor. I got that wicked cracked hinge, though...

I have to say, I think the SP is much more durable, but the DS is okay. Not too bad...

I think that the DS is built just perfectly because it has the hefty "Muy Macho" outsides which count for something... and also the PSP doesnt have any coverings over the main screen, which makes it sesceptable to scratches, dirt, cats attacking you, and scratches...

Well I've played mine for 400+ hours and it still works, granted I've never dropped it any higher than 1 meter, and that was onto carpet. I'm satisfied.
