final fantasy's three main redeeming features are it's storyline, visuals, and soundtrack.as for gameplay itself...i give it a resounding meh.

I feel that when im playing any FF im like in a movie as the main char.It just drags you into the story and you will wanna know how its gonna end.

THAT EASY!!!It's because it contains many changes, like the mood and the story, my fav would be that moment between Yuna and Tidus in Final Fantasy X and in the ending at Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy contains different people and stories, in truth I haven't played Final Fantasy XII, but I've always wanted too.

Why aren't they popular? :PLawl, I think they're popular 'cause they have most (or all) attributes of RPG game's. ;D Like side-quests, main storylines, classes, more then 4 characters.

mostly the storyline of these games. not only is it interesting but the way that the creators develop the stories in a way that builds tension between characters. you can really understand if you play one

For me, I like playing or watching my siblings play Final Fantasy because:>of Good-looking characters (close to real people and did I say good-looking? Rinoa yeah! =p )>of the nice story-line. (suspense, mysterious and interesting that you just want to stay hooked and learn the ending.)>of nice sound tracks/background sound>graphics/videos>long hours of game play.Again, this is just me.. hehehe.. �
