There are three good reasons.1) Final Fantasy consistently released games with an excellent storyline2) Characters are diverse and blend together (as far as the plot)3) The graphics are probably the best out of any games of their time

I've been playing the Final Fantasy series since the first one. I got hooked on it then, though I still think the story line was best in the NES and SNES releases. I do like the better translation of FF4 on the DS though. After the SNES I went exclusively with Sony, so I missed a few games on the N64, etc.FF7, they tried too hard to make the graphics more impressive (which I never liked the graphics anyway) and I felt the system suffered due to it, the only thing I liked about FF7 was the Materia, which was very similar to Espers in FF6, just a little more involved.FF8, I didn't beat. I owned it, because it was Final Fantasy, but when it got stolen, I didn't feel the need to repurchase it.FF9 also got stolen, but I actually enjoyed and beat that one.FF10 was the first one that I truly enjoyed after FF6, but it was WAY too easy.FFX-2, um.. I didn't play it.FF12, was simply beautiful and amazing as far as graphics went, but it didn't feel like a Final Fantasy anymore, due to the radically changed combat system. Nonetheless it was a fantastic game which I thoroughly enjoyed, but again it was far too easy. Once you got the hang of Mist chaining, game over man.Suffice to say, I like 'em because they have fantasy elements (and a few sci-fi to boot) and they're RPGs. I like most RPGs.

I think is one of the videogames saga with more and more potential. they did not get stuck on a single character or world, all games have some things in common like magics, chocobos and the summonings, but every one has its own characters and evil guysalso the stories are great and the characters are charming

they are so popular because SQUIREENIX (i think) is very popular in japan, giving them enough money to translate them into english versions. also they are popular because they make different styles of the game like: FF Tactics, FF IV, FF 1, FF Chrystal Chronicles, FF VII, and others. note: sorry i dont know how to spell the producers name

a bit off topic, but when did the final fantasy series start, are all the games pretty much stand alone?to contribute, i reckon theyre enjoyed cos theyre all rounded games, of a nice genre, one of the few games that doesnt sacrifice story line for graphics and action. got hooked off final fantasy tactics of gba

It's realy a mixture of all of it. Final Fantasy has repeatedly shown us how beautiful CGI graphics can get, and have shown us story lines that has moved some of us to tears. For most gamers in their 20s, it all started with FF7 or FF8 and earlier started with FF6. However, I've been disappointed in the FF series latelyThey just don't make them like they used to.FFX was probably the last of their crowning achievements.FFXI was a bitter disappointment, and although while beautiful and initially addicting, this game is shallow and the only reason why people play it is because they met their friends on it.FFX-2 Actually had no disappointments for me, but it didn't impress me either. The game delivered just exactly what it was meant to - a closure to an instant classic (oxy mormon, ha ha) and just something people enjoy to play.FF12 Was just... boring. Beautiful. Stunningly, even. But just dreadfully boring. The men played it to watch Fran's stripper self walk around half naked, and the ladies played it because they loved Balthier. But this storyline itself absolutely sucked ass.And don't even get me started on all the fillers inbetween with the releases on the GBA, DS, etc. I can only pray that FF13 will redeem itself (and hopefully I'll have a PS3 at that time)is just because of the cool graphics and good story it's so popular , but i don't like the fighting still

It's just the artists and music that make the final fantasy series what it is. Square-enix got the money to make it work.

StorytellingMusic!!!Building up awesome characters and finding nice equipmentStrategy in battlesI started with FFIV, then FFVI. Lately it doesn't feel like the games have been quite as good though, despite the awesome graphics and such.

the characters.....i like the realism of advent children.....the feathered hair.....the storylines.....the battle system.....and maybe the addiction....Square Enix sure is a idea powerhouse....What is your reason for playing the Final Fantasy games???????
