I started with the original FF on the NES.That hooked me. Then I just enjoyed them. Square has a knack for great stories, graphics and systems. Each one tries something new and if it works, it works. If it doesn't it doesn't.And so for each generation there will be FF and remakes for the systems so the new generations can enjoy them. I only wish they still made them for the PC too since thats my prefered system but meh.

Probably their longetivity, you can at least play the classic RPG like ones for days before completing it, FF represents the best RPGs made.

This is true. You can count on the games taking up a lot of time to beat, and they are usually entertaining the whole time. And it's a reliable brand because they have made hit games in the past. I just hope they don't get lazy and start making bad games because they know people will buy them anyway... or maybe they have already started!

Because it's just so cool using double cast Ultima on the last boss and watching the 9999's scroll up.

it is good because each final fantasy has a different story and different ages. the best thing is the story, exemple the best final fantasy which came out was the 6th as the producter said. the characters evolved from the beginning of the game to the end, at the end he's someone different. Terra (FF6) was considered like a normal person at the beginning, the more time pass, she becomes better and greater strength, she figured out she was a magicite. there is other exemples but you have to figured it out yourself or you will know what happened in that game without playing it

I used to think that the only people who played final fantasy where socially awkward nerds who live in there mums basement and played table top games while exclaiming how "LEET" they are. (dang it, i'm becoming them) but i recently played some of the games and realized that it is a great rpg (like golden sun *crosses self) the series has a great storyline and amazing gameplay. the characters are interisting and it is always cool to think at the end of the game how awesome your characters have become. If you where to start playing the series i would recommend final fantasy 1 or 4(2 in the us).

Because they are addictive and fun until you beat them for the first time, then they get boring and repetetive. The only bad thing about the games is the stupid music when you win battles...

I think it's usually the stories that grab people's attention, because they're usually pretty deep and draw people in. Just look at the fanbase behind Final Fantasy VII.

Final fantasy games are "soo" popular because they are ever evolving. Initially, you just want to flow with excellent storyline and eventually come to a boss you cannot defeat. This inclines you to do arduous customisations, training while still entertaining. Sometimes even the areas monsters are to tough, which therefore may make you want to start over entirely. It is then you tend to notice more and more features and stradegies to the completion of final fantasy, furthermore increasing your knowledge and of course keeping you entertained. I guess even if a task seems absolutely boring in theory, it is when you play that the concept of the goal is practical. Along with more familiar concepts among the final fantasy range, each game brings it's own peculiar systems, such as "Sphere Grid FFX" "Gambit System and License Grid FFXII" "Ring of Pacts FFXII: Rev. Wings" and "Materia FFVII". To be more accurate, an example would be:Final Fantasy VII: Initially, you just equip materia and fight. You may then start to understand what stats are, and very much later understand materia is positive and negative as lower levels *OF MATERIA* may reduce stats.Indeed, the gripping storylines are probably the more memorable and the very reason why we enjoy the final fantasy games. The last time i played FF8 (forget the roman numerals) was more than seven years ago, but i remember it all (i think).Well, that's my reasoning, whether or not its sufficient to answer your question. I think I also forget the remarkable cinematic sequences that each game has brought for its era, with the introduction of 3D graphics. The only annoying thing is the startup menu music, because its starts of great, and then you hear everytime you turn on the console.Final Fantasy XII rules!!! I like FFIX's Festival of the Hunt Music...

Hmm, I really don't know. Probably because the characters always make themselves so distinct. And the endings are usually epic. Endings make a game.

They are popular because of the fighting and the uniqueness of the plots that seperate this series with others
