They're well made games, but I think the reason FF games are so popular is they were on a cutting edge on game's developments. FFIV(wait, was it III?)'s job system, FFVII's 3d graphic, and so on. Actually, one of first 'real' games I've encountered was FFX.

I personally cannot stand the Final Fantasy RPGs, but I absolutely love the tactics versions. I am currently playing the A2 for DS: this brings back fond memories of FFTA but with a better layout design.

Final Fantasy is an "adventure" game since the bad guys give you a challenge to beat the game. Theres a lil humor in it and... THE GAME OWNS BADLY... yeah...

They are popular because they tend to have fun stories and long games with great rewards, in game of course.

Personally, I bought the Final Fantasy games on the DS because I liked them on the PS2. The reason why they're popular are probably because of the storyline. And it's also long, where you can't finish it in a day. But I don't really like the battle system. After playing so many of them, I feel like it's getting repetitive (not for the PSOne and PS2, just for the DS).

in my opinion final fantasy is so popular mainly cause of it storyline and the fighting style,so as the music and the backgrounds most of them are just so pretty and cool so as it can be scary and evil thats why its so interesting it varies

Really for me its nostalgia factor of playing these games though i like the spin offs like the Tactics series.

Good question... I guess that there are probably some better RPG games out there. But FF games are always so epic with their score and cutscenes that they just FEEL like better games. Plus some of the characters are downright awesome (Vivi to name a prime example).

I don't get it. There are a lot of better RPGs 8at least in my opinion) that were underrated (like Earthbound), had better storline and stuff.It's all about personal taste, though
