My favorite books tend to be non-fiction science fact books. But fiction, I'd have to say the Discworld novels.

Ah, books. Such a wonderful pasttime. My favoreites are the Harry Potter series, Starship Troopers (it's different than the movie), anything by Stephen E. Ambrose (he wrote Band of Brothers and a bunch of other WWII non-fiction), and most of William Gibson's books (he wrote Neuromancer, where we get the cyberpunk genre).

For fiction novels, I'd have to go with Theodore Sturgeon's "More Than Human" and "The Dreaming Jewels", although his short stories are unparalleled as well. For nonfiction, nothing can beat Gödel, Escher, Bach by Douglas Hofstadter.

My favorite series would have to be Pendragon!

THANK YOU! Finally someone mentions this awesome series!!!Wait... I assume you mean Pendragon: Journal of an Adventure Through Time and Space series by DJ Machale? Because that's one of my all time fave books. I know there are like thirty million other books called Pendragon, all old books about medeival times and crap. The Pendragon I'm talking about is scifi/fantasy based in the world today. Very cool. If you like Harry Potter, you have to pick this up. It's similar in certain ways, but more...American...I guess. Meaning the narrator/main character is funny and sarcastic, things are more spoken then implied, whatever. I'm overanalyzing it. But I love Harry Potter and Pendragon equally. That is saying something. Try it out.I also like Artemis Fowl, anything by Dan Brown, His Dark Materials isnt too bad, Maximum Ride is awesome too, if you see it. It has people with wings on the cover, you'll probably notice it in the YA section...

My favorite book so far is "The Count of Monte Cristo," by Alexandre Dumas 1500 pages of goodness! It started out slow for me, but after a few chapters it really drew me in.My favorite series is from Elisabeth Moon, "The Deed of Paksenarrion" I think I enjoyed reading that more than "The Lord of the Rings."I just bought the first 4 books from Discworld. I've read so many good things about it, I had to buy them.
