I sometimes play Japanese games, if the whole game isn't focused on conversations or such. Otherwise, I'll be totally lost in it.

Although I almost always play the English version, recently I've begun playing games I've played before in the languages I'm studying, German and French, and the European ROMs this site provides is very helpful in doing so. Otherwise, it depends on whether or not I'd actually like to play it and if it's region exclusive.

I normally don't, since I don't understand Japanese well, but I will at least try to play a game in another language if its only available in that language

Japanese. It's not that difficult for most menus, but I need to work on it for more text-intensive games like RPGs.

I prefer English and not only that but the same region where I am from so that way if someone has the real game we can still link.I might try the new Pokemon ones with a translation patch.

yes there are some games that you just can't get without going Japanese. Un fortunately Japanese games prefer long winded speaches about something or other.
