you should try out borderlands 1 and 2. To understand the full force of both the story and the gameplay mechanics, they should be played in order. while i do believe they should make up their own genre, they can be filed under Action/Adventure, RPG, or FPS. the first has an ok story line, yet it introduces you into the new kind of game genre beautifully. when played the first can give you 20-30 hours + and the same if not double for the second. the choices of guns in the two games are unprocessed, for the first set the world record for most amount of guns in a game, only to be beaten by the second. all in all, the game of the year edition for the first and the normal edition would be worth the price!

I would like to recommend The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to be ranked. Personally, I believe SKyrim deserves a 4 ****. While Skyrim, like its predecessor, Oblivion, is full of glitches and game-breaking occurrences, The gameplay, storyline, character customization, beauitful new graphics, and Radiant Story quest generation more than make up for the title's shortcomings.
I tend to disagree with you on this one. Skyrim was a pretty good game at first but after awhile it just became redundant. I feel like there was more to do in oblivion, and for that matter even morrowind had more to it.
Gears of war is the most infuriating game on the face of this planet.
It can be infuriating on insane difficulty but I like a game that gives a challenge and a game that submerges you into the story. It builds a connection with the characters that makes you feel like you're a part of something. It may be ffrustratng at times but its definitely one of the greatest gamss on this console series.

I think all the batman games (Blackgate, Asylum, Arkham City, origins) should be rated high star.
