1. Backup ALL the contents of your Memory Stick (e.g. Games, Music, Videos).2. Format your Memory Stick using your PSP. That would be (System Settings > Format Memory Stick™).3. Connect your PSP to your PC using USB.4. Go to the Command Prompt. (Start > Run > Type "cmd" > Ok)5. Type the command "format x: /FS:fat" where x is the drive letter of your PSP.6. When you are asked about 64kb block size, just choose yes.7. Copy ALL the original contents back into the Memory Stick.8. And, you're done. You now have a faster PSP formatted into a FAT16 file system. This will make transferring files from your PC to your PSP go faster, also it will help ISO's run faster

Yeah if you do it with your PSP it will do fat32. I believe this is only for 4 gig sticks, though. This tutorial is for 4 gig sticks only, because I believe windows gives you the option to format anything lower to FAT16.

I was actually informed over at the maxconsole forums that this doesn't work on 8gigs, because it's not compatible with Windows.I should change the title...Though this hasn't been officially confirmed yet.

It formats the memory stick. Deleting all the folders and all the data on it. Maybe I should have put a warning, but I figured everyone knew what formatting meant. You have to create the folders manually, seeing as you're not formatting with your PSP.Again, I didn't notice much difference in computer transfer speeds...but ISO games run faster, and UMD Video iso's don't skip anymore.

Now that I think about it, you may have bad drivers or drivers that are just no totally compatible.

You could also try the formatter from Panasonic that they use on SD cards. it allows for 4 gig and under to be fat. Haven't tried it myself for the MSPD, but if you've got the time.
