I'm actually a terribly sensitive sleeper. I can't even sleep with my laptop fan on, so I definitely can't sleep while a TV is playing. Also it just strikes me as depressing rather than comforting when you're watching tv as you fall asleep, and having it be the first thing to greet you when you wake up.

I've never actually slept with a TV being left on so yes I can sleep without the TV being on.However, maybe the question for me should be "Can you sleep WITH the TV being left on?" Maybe I should try an experiment.

Yes I ca.I never sleep in front of the TV except when there is a game on and i am dead sleepy.Then i fall asleep.I would do that even if i hadn't been watching TV.

Yeah i can. I can't stand having the tv on when im sleeping because I can only sleep when its dark and theres no noise.

Well, now that I've gone and gotten used to the tv being on again while I sleep, it's gotten to where I can't sleep without it on. ARGH!

I can't really sleep with the TV on. I have a few times in the past, but when something random and loud starts to play it wakes me up. I prefer dark and quiet. Maybe some music. I also have fallen asleep while playing FFIX.

I used to not be able to go to sleep without the TV on. It made me really tired in the morning though so I stopped cause I had to wake up for school -_-.

I always fall asleep with the TV on, it has a timer so that it turns itself off after a like 45 minutes or so. Don't know why but I think I need to get bored, from like Becker, before I can relax enough to get some sleep.

Yeah but I can't sleep when the tv is on. Oh and I also can't sleep if the fan is off but I can when it is on. I'm one of those fan people.

Its strange. I ask me how can people sleep with tv? I cant, i can hear the tv even it is on reset. I hate this. He must be switched off with me also from the outlet, so that I can sleep.So me can only sleep without tv.

On the contrary, I hate it when the T.V. is on or when something around me is noisy. I can only sleep when It's quiet, peaceful or when I'm really tired.(Exception: I can sleep on a bus or on any noisy vehicle when I want to and when I'm really really tired)
