Hands down the best game from the Gamecube! I really liked that they released the entire series to Gamecube (and LOVED the REmake) as well. RE4 is just amazing though, everything from the graphics to the new game play mechanics. At first I was worried that I wouldn't like the changes since I was such a hardcore fan already, but it turned out that each change was for the better and only made me love the series more so. Here's hoping RE5 can carry the torch!

I'd have to agree with many of these posts here, RE4 was an amazing game, but not quite as scary as RE3, or even 3....I like to be scared, and I hate that RE4 took away much of the fear element.....and where's the zombies?! Geez, I use to play merely for the zombies, and the thrills and chills. I can't complain at all about the graphics on RE4, especially on the 'cube...but I hope that RE5 can bring back the sense of suspense and danger that the Nemesis in RE3 brought.....just thinking about that sudden "S.T.A.R.S!" from Nemesis...that always made me jump!

They also forgot the extra games on GC. And I know from a friend with good ties to Capcom, that it was a mistake. Normally the extra games should have been on the GC but they FORGOT to put them on the CD. So stupid.

The only thing I know about the production of resident evil 4 is that it went through many concepts before they chose this one. One of these concepts actually became a different game series entirely (devil may cry)

The game is really more of an action shooter rather than a survival horror. Nonetheless, it is still an amazing game. I absolutely loved the controls, and really fell in love with the new style of Resident Evil Capcom was bringing about.

The Game was really goood I was surprised it even came out on the gamecube in the first place. The branch off about the parasites gave the resident evil series a new feel and another epidemic they can elaborate on.

Why this happened i have yet to find out. maybe they just got lazy. If anyone can shed some light on that subject, tell me cause im very curious about itUh RE4 came out as a GC exclusive PS2 bitched about it so the team remade it for ps2 since ps2 isn't anywhere near as powerful as GC they decided to add a few extra thing's to it"Splitting Way's""Plaga removing laser"But game went from a rival of early x360 games to a decent graphics for ps210k Polly walk model to a 5k one32 bit textures to 16 bit ones

I remember playing the first Resident Evil over at a friend's house late at night. Those frog people (I am not sure what they are called...hunters or something) would appear as if from nowhere and scare the living hell out of us. Resident Evil 4 is almost completely action and has little scare factor to it.I think what they should have done is split the series and renamed the action game something else - albeit being a very good game, the story-line just started to get way off the whole zombie stuff. Even though they may be a lot more slow and dim-witted, I still prefer killing regular zombies over ganados any day.Edit: But obviously, the game sold a lot better under the Resident Evil flag title than it would have done under a different title.

Here's the thing: Resident Evil 4 was a game cube exclusive game. When it was released it was such a big hit that the creeps at sony got jealous anda wanted to have a version of the game as well, that's why there's a PS2 version that's more "complete" in terms of story than the GC version. Later on, with the release of the wii, nintendo released a version of RE4 for the wii taking advantage of their awesome wii-mote. I think it was a clever decision.

i haven't played it personally, but i've watched my bro play it, and it is very entertaining. the merchant is actually a bit amusing to me. My bro and i crack up every time we see it in game.

I honestly thought the game was quite fun. A bit more challenging imo.

My first Resident Evil game ever was RE4 for the Wii. Since then, I own several RE games and have beaten them all pretty thoroughly.
