People often talk about this subject, but never give a clear opinion. Here is where to clear your thoughts on it. I for one, really don't care if guys play as female characters. To be honest, I do it quite often. here are a few reasons. In most games, like Fighters or RPG's, the female characters are so much better than the male characters it's crazy. My style of gaming tends to go towards teh faster, more nimble characters. Most female characters are just that, while I dislike the slow, bulky style of most of the male characters. And to be honest, if you were playing an MMO, and are a guy, would you rather look at the back of some burly bulky dude for the next million hours of your life, or a chick? Be honest, most MMO players waste hours upon hours playing this game. Why not at least use a character that's easy on the eyes?

I use female characters quite a bit, and I agree with much of what you said kratos. If it's stat wise, I tend to favor the agile characteristics that the female characters tend to have. I guess I get bored with the whole "man is up in front - hack and slash" tactic. On MMO games, my main character is always a male character. But when I create alts just to mess around while I'm bored and nothing to do on the main character, I'll tend to create a female for the same reason you've said. Easier on the eyes. Just hate it when I got people stalking my girl and not saying anything.

I dont think there is anything wrong with someone picking a female character in a fighting game or enjoying a game of tomb raider. That said, people who pick female characters in MMO games and then pretend to be real females have some serious issues. Most of them are just trying to get ahead by milking the horny majority male population, but some of them take it way too far.

Meh, if it's a fighting game or whatever yeah there are a lot of games that I prefer using the female characters, like in street fighter i was always chun li or whatever her name was, I was always peach in mario kart 64, she's like the best character. Now a far as RPGs or whatever go, whatever I guess it's your choice, I have been the female character on some games before, even online games. (I made my Yugioh Online character female and given it a female name, just for fun. I now regret that decision since you cannot change the name, and I gave it a female name because I didn't expect to keep playing it. Now i have a character which I can either use female graphics or male graphics but either way I am stuck with the name.) I dunno, there's nothing really WRONG with it I guess unless you purposely go around trying to convince people you're female.

I always use female characters because I name them after female book characters...I know that sounds weird, but it's true. I don't have a problem with it.

I dislike it when men use female characters because sometimes they don't tell you upfront and that can put you in an awkward situation.

I tend to use male characters in RPGs where your armor changes cause males normally get the cooler looking armors. I use some female characters on fighting games because they seem to be a little easier to do combos with. But i agree with how some guys are creepy trying to act like females when useing a female character

It doesn't really matter. Some people just do it for fun or because they want a character that is female.

I make/play a guy, mostly. I will make/play a girl if I have to look at them for ages, though.

When given the option, I like to play as a girl. This is because I rather enjoy seeing girls kick ass - after all, I've grown up watching movies and shows and reading books that were all about guys kicking ass and seeing a girl kick ass is an interesting break from the norm for me. Even if, in an ideal world, it shouldn't be an interesting break from the norm.

I don't like it when guys play as girls in MMORPGs because either their character is hotter than mine (because they just tried to make her sexy) and everyone ends up joining his/her party.. Or everyone assumes that I'm a guy, too, so they don't want to play with me. I'm not a guy..! I almost feel like maybe I should be playing as a male character to balance out the sex imbalance sometimes. When it comes to fighting games and stuff.. That's about strategy. But when there's little difference between stats on male or female, like in an MMO, it's a little.. Odd.

Well, I generally play as Female characters in MMORPG's simply due to the fact that they are oftentimes, more physically appealing as your average online game such as World of Warcraft tends to overplay Male features to levels in which become simply disturbing. However, even so, I always inform other users that I'm a Male simply behind Female avatars in order to avoid confusion and possible trouble.

personnaly i usually play with both caracters^^ guys and girls. But then in some games i find that the girls are stronger than the guys. Such as comabt games^^most of the time the girls are much faster which i prefer ( less than the usual kung-fu guy in those games of course )

I tend to stick to males unless its something where a female character has an awesome weapon or im forced to use her or the worst guy in the game. I dont care if guys use girls so much, except my creepy friend always did because he liked to watch thier bodies :/

I think the only way they do that is if they are trying to get free items. Thats the only reason that i think that a dude would play as a chick character.

An ex of mine did that when he played (or I guess he still plays?) FFXI. Do I care or was I bothered by it? No. Mainly because he did it out of kicks and because guys would give him things because he was a girl in the game.Don't know if he still does it, but that's what usually happened. I never really cared because he at least managed his time for gaming and relationships well, unlike many who are addicted to MMOs.
