Imo anyone can play any sex, I don't really care.I, myself prefer playing male characters, if they don't are "sissy".If they are then i rather play a female character, since they usually are "better" at least in fighting games.

Personally, I see no problem with it - after all, we are talking about Role-Playing Games. By definition, you're taking on a fictional persona. So they're not a girl in real life - chances are they're not a night elf in real life either. And RP'ing a female character is often more fun, since you're not limited to "staunch and macho" as most males in fantasy seem to be.

No problem with that for me. I'd like to try having a male RPG character one time, hehe :shiftyninja:.

I personally find nothing wrong with it, my very first MMO character was a girl. Although, my mains generally tend to be men, i have plenty of female alts when i get bored of playing my main. I generally make what I'm in the mood for.

Hah, I don't see anything wrong with it.Sometimes I play as girls so that I can make fun of horny guys online. In fact, what's wrong is how guys are actively pursuing online relationships, at least in the regions I play in. Mainly, I pick the character's gender based on which one looks better though.

it really isn't a big deal for me. i sometimes make female characters on MMO's because i don't want to stare at a guy for the rest of my gaming time

I find nothing wrong with it. Some of my guy friends go into games as girls just to confuse people, like in MMOs. Once a guy I know made a female Second Life character and went around as a prostitute for a while just for kicks. It was pretty funny, I was watching him.

I certainly don't see anything wrong with it... I used to be really huge into RPing, and always role played as a male character (I'm female) because when I started rping, there was a serious shortage of male characters (1 guy to 32 girls), so it was just easier to play as a guy. At one point a girl asked me to be her boyfriend though, outside of the rp, and got really mad when she found out I was female. :P She cursed me out and told me I was a sicko, then blocked me when she felt she had expressed herself enough. *eyeroll* Oh, the drama.I definitely don't care much though--Games, for me, are a form of escape. If I want to escape as a guy for a few hours--who cares? :P I apply that to other people too ^___^

I don't really mind. As long as some guy doesn't get a gf that is actually a guy. but then that guy would be totally out of sync.

Completely agreed with Kratos, female characters ARE often tougher than male characters. Of course it IS opinionated, but it seems like it's the case in most games. If you're playing online "MMO"-style games, playing as a girl is really quite revoulting. There is little reason, unless they're scammers or ...very unusual people.

Playing as a female on MMO's doesn't need to mean anything else than that one likes the look of that character. One of the pro's of playing games is that one can make characters one is comfortable with. That being said, I tend to pick the agile looking men. Often when I play, I want to be "best", and playing as a male gives me that feeling more than a female character. But this is all about personal opinions.

I use female characters as they are a change of pace in certain games, though I'm not much of an MMO player, so I've never actually played 'as a girl'. With that said, I usually stick with male characters unless I have a reason to play otherwise.

In most games, like Fighters or RPG's, the female characters are so much better than the male characters it's crazy

This is true with a lot of games I play, specificly i'm thinking of Castlevania for N64. The guy gets that chessy whip that you have to get realy close to use but the girl gets a ranged attack (which is homeing and can affect multiple targets no less) I would realy like to know why game makers put female characters in that are so much better than the guys. I'm not sure if it's because they think girls need to have it easier (assumeing girls use the girl character more and vice versa) or if they're so scared of accidentally makeing the girl weaker and getting called sexist that they overcompensate.
