well, nothings wrong in it. but I prefer male especially when playing role playing games. coz you are playing 'role playing game'So i always choose male characters to represent as me in the game. and who says male characters are not easy in the eye? wanna see my nightelf in WOW? >:3.

Sometimes playing females can be hilarious like in Summon Night for gba if you play a female and summon the right monster it can be really entertaining

Agreed, it's sad because online experiences are so unrewarding compared to real life relationships. Not saying they're bad, just life ones are more vivid.I sometimes forget how some people really get into games.... but I can see how people pretending to be someone they're not is just part of a bigger issue. One can only hope they don't take it too far.
Role Playing doesn't mean it's you, it's a role. Like if an actor takes a role. When you play FF7 you take the role of Cloud or whoever and follow the narrative. MMO RPG's in essence 'could be a representation of you, or a mental image of you, but by far it's not you. Unless you look like an Night Elf...coz you are playing 'role playing game'So i always choose male characters to represent as me in the game.

I don't see how. It's just a game, and it's not like it's bothering anyone, is it? If you're actually bothered by something so trivial, then you're the one with the problem, in my opinion.one thing is play with girls characters, and another is impersonate girl in a game online ...thats disgusting

I don't know any guys who play as girls. But that probably makes me weird. I don't really see a problem with it, as long as they're not pretending to be a girl, like trying to convince someone that they are. I often play Oblivion as both male and female characters, just for the fun of it.

One thing you have to realize. Most people who play MMOs all day do NOT want to be looking at a male character's ass while grinding for hours at a time. Sure, I play as female characters, but I also play as male as well. It usually depends on which I think looks best for which race/class/etc. Prot Pally? Male. Sub Rogue? Female. Shadow Priest? Male. Holy Priest? Female.See what I'm saying? Sometimes female fits best within the lore and gameplay than male does, especially with Priests (I shouldn't even need explain).

I think it's mad weird, I know so many people that do this. I guess it's because people treat them nicer and on mmo's they get free stuff when they pretend like girls

i always use a guy char as my main but when i play an alt i'll make a female as well. sometimes it is true they have better stats in which case i will choose them over males but people who play females and are guys but actually act like females and hook up w/ other guys and do... yeah thats kinda wierd and needs to be taken care of >.>

I think its alrgiht unless they start lying to people for stuff. I know a lot of guys who pretend to be girls so that other guys will give them free stuff. Usually on MMOs.

i play most of the time as a girl character im still not sure why. on both MMOs and single player games but everyone here thinks its wierd so yeah

I am a girl but it depends on the game as to what character I chose. I usually choose a male, but sometimes a female. It depends on which has the best weopons, spells, etc.

ill play as girls whenever not just when i pick them also ill play like tomb raider and metroid and other games where the main char is a girl i just dont know why peeps be gettin deep sixed about thet kinda stuff

honestly, i'm always a bit disturbed if a guy plays as a girl. i guess if he likes agile stats then it's not such a big deal, but somehow i can't get over how effeminate it is to be drawn to female prototypes. unless he's got valid reasons for it, it just doesn't come across as very masculine, and the guys i've met who do it tend to be really immature. as a female gamer, i have trouble taking them seriously.

Eh, I'm whatever about the subject. As has been said some styles of playing fit better with skills of female characters, some with male, it depends on the game and what style you prefer. Guys pretending to be Girls (and vise versa) just for free stuff and that... not so cool. Honestly i don't think it's that big of a deal...

female characters have stat advantages dunno whyas for WoW Online ,if u r a mage u gotta choose a female cause it will give u the time of leveling ur char for at least 5-10 levels

I generally pick a character based on their attributes, if there are any. I find that in some games I play, male characters have stronger physical strength, and females have stronger magic. Since I like magic and ranged attacks, I sometimes pick females. I don't think there is anything wrong with this; as long as you don't act negatively towards others.
