EDIT: To be absolutely clear, this is a beginners class. If your experienced don't say "Your not good enough to have a sig class." because I can teach the basics to someone who has never made a sigI here to teach new sig makers the basics of the craft. I opened this school mainly because Swankman asked for some help. If you want help you can ask here and i will try my best to help you.Now to get things startedFirst Assignment: RenderIn most sigs, the main focus of the piece is a cutout image of one thing or another. The Image (render) is where I'm going to start.First go to Planet renders and set up an accountThen use the search function to look for a render you would like to usethen post a link to the render here

I'm just here to teach beginners the basics. Swankman has only had photoshop for a day. You don't need this, you can already make sigs. You can feel free to give advice if you want( or if you really want to play along) I'm not saying Swankman can win sig of the week next week but he can learn generally how to make a sig.also I don't think DS gives advice here anymore. You can get his advice if you pay for it at Higher End GFX though.First off you have to start a new document, 450 x 200set the background to transparentThen open the render and copy and paste it to the document you created.then Control + Tresize the image so it fits ( I do not suggest trying to fit the whole render in the sig)should look something like this, not necessarily the same place, this is just a good size. You can see details of the render.Posted ImageDedede - your render is short, you could get away with putting the whole thing in (but you already knew that)Then you want to start brushingyou can download brushes at deviantARTjust search photoshop brushespost again when you do this. Thats when I'll tell you how to install brushes.

So can I be a judge or a teacher?EDIT: Heres the first result, with just brushing, and a bit of blurring. Also, sorry, but I dont really work with 450s, to bulky for me. Posted ImageOh, and one thing. I reccomend you duplicate your render, incase you change anything to it you always have the back up. And dont brush on the same layer as the render, either. Make a new layer to brush.

It would basically be like the showcase forum. After different steps are completed you tell them what is good or bad so far. You would be more of a teacher than a judge (since there is one person learning so far) but if more beginners show up I may make it a graded thing. I just want more people to learn the basics because there arn't enough sig makers. Its basically you, Aden, and Wis making sigs, maybe a few more people.

For the benefit of DG, If we could put more steps into these posts instead of one per post, it would benefit, much. MUCH. Yea, alright, Ill help and follow. So, next, Swank, Take colors from your render, which you can use the dropper tool, and brush around effectively, I reccomend using Abstract or Splatter brushes, (I used, AdySplat 2), and brush. Take mine as an example. Give us your result. Ill help along with you, hirruo.

What the flipping? Umm... Please, for the benefit of the sig, on Deviantart, look up "Ady Splat" or something of the sort, "Splatter Brushes" or something, I cang stand to see anything like that, or atleast bring the render up. I may sound harsh, but I know a bit more of what Im talking about.*Waits for an objection from a better GFX artist*Oh yea, and use more colors, and smaller brushes.Halfway done with my sig now.

All I see with the first one is an error message saying the image was deleted. Upload it again. As for the second one. If you are going to use an auron render, use a better one. It, isnt bad for a begginer, but, bring auron up so we can see him better.

I don't know Genevance, It might be too soon to talk about C4d's. There kinda a pain (for beginners) Not to mention he still needs work on brushing.Swankman, try making different layers of brushing. Each on with different colors (from the sig) I want to see a new sig with at least 3 layers of brushing. Also, don't put brushing in front of the render (your not ready for that yet) Your just distorting the image that way. and Deddede's right, Auron is way too small there.

Well, its a method of blending, thats what I did for mine, But never the less, Try both Swank, but Dont over do it. Leave some blank space for later.

Yes, and very effective blending methodI only mean here we should focus on the background before the foreground. We will get to blending soon
