No, It'd probably just kill the game's feeling. Non-talking Link has gone from far back, it's very risky to change that now. Link's fine as a mute hero, eh?Also, mostly half of the fanboys would hate his voice for one reason or another.

He already does in a sense; they just use his 'fairy' to say what he would. Clever if not annoying work around I think.

And yet, apparently everyone around him speaks English and he understands everything that is told to him.Personally, I don't believe it's necessary for Link to speak. Usually, I like witty dialogue in games, but I am of the opinion that it wouldn't help Legend of Zelda for this to happen. It's a distraction against the main purpose of the game: gameplay.

Nintendo probably hasn't given Link lines because that would make him act a certain way, and people may not like it. Sometimes certain lines are really really annoying (Get Up on the Hydra's back!!! anyone?), whether repeated or not. Might turn people away from the series because they can't stand the dialog. And that wouldn't be good for profits, no matter how small the decrease, which is what matters to them in the end.

There Is No Way That Anyone Would Sound Right, And Besides It's, Like, Traditional By Now That He Doesn't Speak.

No. Mute plz. Him talking would be awkward and would make him lose a bit of his charm.

One of the reasons he never talks is that the player feels like they are 'in' the game more than they are controlling a character. Making Link talk would take away this feeling. Also, I doubt they would be able to find a good VA.

Definately not. He's never spoken before, so why start now? They've managed to use facial animations and body language to an excellent degree with the games so far.

Sadly, giving link a voice would be the most mismatched idea to the zelda game itself, because everyone has their own ideas on how he should sound, along with how zelda and ganaondorf should sound. Its one of those voices that should be played best by each and every person in their own mind because that way we dont have posts saying oh man the guy they got to voice link or even a girl to do the voice is the suxorz.

it could be the exact opposite though, but personally i say no too, just think back to when they had that cartoon series, the voices suked juevos grandes. And that goess for most RPG's most voice overs don't fit unless they started talking since the beginning of the series.

Link is a classic example of a silent protagonist. It's a time-honored tradition throughout the series and it's become 100% canon. If they added a voice actor for Link, it'd be altering a very successful and iconic formula for the main character we've all come to expect from Zelda games.
