Yeah, so I thought I might make this topic to make note of any solutions. I thought it had enough of a broader problem spectrum than just posting it in individual flashcart/emulation topics.Emulators:no$gbaUse the screen-enlarging program NGzoom to fix the graphics. It can be found here: http://www.dgemu.com...ams-no-gba.htmlIdeasIf you want to know how to run the game with ideas, then read this post for more info:http://www.dgemu.com...w...t&p=4141839The remainder of this post refers to Flashcarts:I've scanned the GBATemp thread on this, and it basically goes along the lines of this:It freezes in the cutscene after your first 'battle'. With the guy with the black hat (Beat).M3 Real, R4: Update to latest firmware usually fixes it.AceKard, DS-Xtreme, M3 Perfect: Freezes all the time. No matter what option you use to write to it. Use the below workarounds.Recommended: Alternatively, as a more general solution, Download the save file starting at Day 2 (covert save game types here. If you're desperate to play Day 1, on http://www.theworldendswithyou.com/Edit: Also, a japanese 'fix', scroll down a few posts or click hereEdit 2: A rather... strange solution. But hey, it works.Either that or wait until there's a more official fix (from your flashcart manufacturer). Or wait for the US version and see how that goes. Those are your options.Edit:6/29/08 - Add solution for playing on Ideas Emulator as reported by PapaSurf. GBATEST4/20/09 - Added a solution for no$gba- shadowmanwkp

M3 REAL - freezes on the opening video when two characters run past each other, hopefully a new firmware is released to fix this problem.

Okay, so there may be a 'solution' of sorts.Which involves the Japanese version (1240 - Subarashiki Kono Sekai).Edit: 1. Unpack the EU and JAP games, switch the audio files of the EU with the Jap, and repack using DSLazy. However, there are conflicting reports to if this works all the time. (Tested, did not work for me)2. Play the Japanese version up until day 2, keep your save, and use it for the Eu version.

I use an M3 Real and it would freeze on the cut scene and just upgrading my firmware to 3.4 fixed the problem.

Keep closing and opening the DS during the cutscene. Keep doing it until past the crash-point (80% that the game won't crash)

...Don't ask me, I just find these things. But if it does work, (It does work) Kudos to them for being weird enough to try it out.

Okay, that's very strange.I'll check it out though and tell you if it works.Edit 1: Okay, it took me a little bit past the point, but I opened the DS too far and it froze on me. Probably because it wasn't completely past the freeze point. I'll try again.Edit 2: It froze on the same part as the first time I tried. I assume it's because I'm not opening and closing the DS fast enough.

It does not work on No$GBA 2.6Sorry, guys.I've scanned the GBATemp thread on this, and it basically goes along the lines of this:It freezes in the cutscene after your first 'battle'. With the guy with the black hat skull thing (this freeze is commonly referred to as simply "black hat").

it doesn't really freeze. it's just that the graphics pretty back out all sprites other than the backgrounds. you can still continue the battle by hitting select, but if it's ur first time, you would know what to do with it...and on that note, the battle screen is completely blacked out, but it still takes imput, and if you hit start and hit in the middle of the bottom screen, it continues, up to the next battle. other than that, yeah, the game is unplayable, but it doesn't FREEZE as you said. you can still see all the cutscenes...

Actually, correct me if i am wrong but the game never did freeze. Like the selection to start the game, if you look on youtube, you will see a symbol on the top left hand corner but there is a black circle there ( at least for me ). I was only able to see the intro and when he woke up, i could only see him and other people are black in colour. I think the emulator could not visualise the grapics. If you can measure the option from the one on youtube and your emulator and click, your story will continue but you will not be able to see anything. Kinda pointless.

I downloaded the game from here. You need the right programme to download stuff and it's not completely free (although it's very cheap, a year subscription or something). This version is working perfectly on my R4.I get most of my ds games from Newzbin, but they don't have them all which is why i have come here.

Hopefully these are just bugs, and not newfangled ninja techniques developed to sabotage emulators.Because that would really be The End of the World.

If it was anti-piracy then it wouldn't run on emulators AND on flashcarts, it's just like MoD screen at FFCC:RoF it worked perfectly on emulators, but it couldn't run on flashcarts because after like 30 mins the game showed a screen when you left an area that said: "thank you for playing!" (you also see 2 moogles and that's why it got the nickname Moogles of Death). But when new firmware came out for flashcarts this was fixed. So I think it's a graphic bug, just like in pokémon ranger: you see 2nd layer sprites on top sometimes (like watching the logo at the title screen or when talking to people).

No, it's not antipiracy. It's just comaptibility issues.

...Are we talking about the same thing?Thunderhog, you're talking about something in battle, and I'm talking about the cutscene out of battle.Kyx, That black circle is the Continue option. The first option to save is after the cutscene I've described. And, in general, there are no graphical glitches on flashcarts.

srry about that. i tought you meant it freezes right before the battle...XDbut yeah, i've managed to get past the cutscene where you said it freezes on the black skull cap guy (Beat...) and got up to the part where you fight with shiki the first time, and a bit after that, so no, the game doesnt freeze, it's just curently unplayable...

I'm glad I'm not the only one getting this problem, I'm gonna try doing the open/close screen thing...I really wanna play it from the start, and I've -never- downloaded a save file, so I don't wanna download one now ^.^'EDIT: Tried the close screen trick, It worked for me! ^w^ I'm gonna go play!

I don't know if this is just luck or not, but holding start and select when the cutscene that jams starts has always brought me through. I hold the buttons until a safe time after the jam usually occurs. I'm running a Supercard DSONE with OS 3 sp3 and refering to the (e) version. I have been able to successfully duplicate the fix again as well, if that matters.EDIT: I have just seen (U) available on a site. So it's out there.

... I can't believe that actually works.*speechless*Anyways, yeah, the US version is out too. And although my opening post is based on the EU version, there are reports that the exact same freeze occurs. So for now, I'll assume the same problem has the same solution(s).

Right, I got past the freeze on the U.S. version, third try lucky~The first time it froze I was trying to use the open/close method, then second time was trying to hold down Start and Select, and then the third time was using the open/close method again.I believe the trick here is that it skips a few seconds if you do it at the right speed. It doesn't skip enough if you're too slow and it doesn't skip at all if you're too fast. Now the only thing to half-worry about is this freeze at the credits a single guy posted of in the EU version topic on GBATemp, but I've only seen THAT one person speak of it, so there you go.
