I BRING EVIDENCE: http://www.maxconsol...ws&newsid=27534well, still the main source is from gametap.

Ok yeah, Ed Boon is truly an idiot. A lot of what he says is so contradictory with his own statements.

We did acknowledge that we won’t be able to do the same kinds of outrageous moves, like tearing someone's head off and the spine being attached to it. But there are a lot of assumptions that there will be no blood in the game, that there are no fatalities in the game. It's an assumption that, because the DC characters will be in there, those features will have to be dropped. My response is that, no, we're modifying fatalities. But I have every intention to keep finishers. You know, to let gamers do a really cool secret button combination and follow with a really outrageous finishing move to end the match.

The only thing that gets is a semi big:=\So he plans on modifying fatalities to be less violent and less "outrageous" but still "outrageous." Uhhh ok then!!!! While we're at it, let's go vegetarian and eat bacon!!!You know what I just realized while typing this is; it doesn't matter what type of finishers are going to be in the game, 3D Mortal Kombat games have always been completely subpar fighters anyways, he's going to have to pull a rabbit out of his ass to even THINK that this is going to be a good game in terms of gameplay. You can't win with fanservice alone.

To downshift, I think it's the mortal kombat trilogy which is the best mortal kombat game (Since it has a complete cast of characters than ultimate which was bought to the CD-GEN consoles) and everyone is right about 2-D mortal kombat games having the most hair raising fatalities than the 3-D mortal kombat. But back to the topic. The first game shots looks like it was from the recent mortal kombat game: deception that they made an MK character batman skin to fight sub zero. Hoping though that this wouldn't be the case when it comes out with a new MK engine. Another thing is this game might be doom from the moment they thought that including SUPERMAN into a GAME will turn out great, as a lot of us know (And who watched gametrailer's screw attack top ten videos) superman is a DOUCHEBAG when it comes to video games. Anyway, as for what ed boon had said, what could be so outrageous and not so violent finisher that will come out of those secret button presses?

hmm, i heard that Armageddon was the last MK game...well...if this is true id be disappointed cuz the idea is so stupid. Mortal Kombat with no blood or fatalities and some DC people. That would suck.

I think it may be cool. I enjoy the DC Universe and well.. I guess MK is decent. It may not be MK in the traditional sense but I think embracing this turn of direction may be worth a shot. Some of you MK fans may not agree, but to each his own I guess.

I hope this game fails, I am really wishing for a new Marvel vs. Capcom game but that is never going to happen. No fatalities or limited fatalities with a T rating on this game = no fun

Ehhh... dunno if that's a valid reason to have MK:Trilogy as the best one, if you're going by the amount of characters in the game, why not say Armageddon is the best one D: Plus, the mixture of characters was a lot better in UMK3, and having some missing ninjas in there didn't hurt the game, I also felt it was the most balanced of the series (Guh @ Human Smoke, though)

Well, for one noone will know if there's truly going to be blood n gore that is the Mortal Kombat trademark. However, the way I read it from the interview you posted, he's altering the rules a bit for each universe like they did in the old amalgam comics such as the Marvel Vs. DC. Secondly, it's still in development and they're probably putting the finishing touches on it before releasing anything on its game play other than this lovely teaser trailer. Third, in the comics there's very dark and gritty material where even Superman has killed someone and/or died thus it can be done. (granted not permanantly much like Johnny Cage and Liu Kang) Forth and final point, HELLO PEOPLE IT'S A GAME! It much like our favorite comics and books tells a story and unlike print material puts us in the action through more than just our imagination. Instead of nit-picking and degrading the hard work. the very interesting premise, and guessing at what the final product will be....1) Wait for it. 2) If you don't like it don't buy it 3) Show some respect for it as I doubt any of us here on this forum (myself inclusive) could even come close to designing something like that. Seems like everyone when a movie or game comes out becomes a critic. While the popular vote is the one that the entertainment industry thrives on and they try to meet popular demand there's always going to be someone who's over critical of it. *shrugs* I myself don't care if it's going to be "realistic" as both things are not based in reality. Thus, I don't trouble myself with the "How could it be" and try to enjoy the "how it is" the concept, and when it becomes reality for the public...I also focus on the game play itself.

Definitely about 10 years too late on that front. The only viable reason for this game is to pop back at the next gen big fighters. I love how he's coming up with the stupidest reasons for Superman to be weaker than he usually is, lolllllllllll what a tool.

MK isnt MK without the blood and fatalities its crazy

It's a good Idea but it has issues:
  • Why DC, the only good character I know they have is Batman but what about Marvel or Archie?
  • It won't be as violent
  • I bet they'll have Mr Freeze
  • Robin will suck
  • You can't imagine it ever being great!

What... the... Posted ImageThere is no way anyone in Archie is capable of actual fighting. And currently Activision holds most of the rights to produce videogames based on Marvel Characters. Therefore there are no Marvel characters. And once again I am reminded that there will be no Marvel vs Capcom 3.

It has been said that the Mortal Kombat Characters and the villians from DC Comics will have fatalities to pull off, while the DC Comics heroes will have vicious brutalities with which they may thoroughly lay the smack down upon their opponents. I, for one, cannot wait for the game to be released!
