Of course, it's SMB 3. I like the first one too, but second isn't for me.

I say that SMB 3 is my favorite. Why? Because I can pwn my friends with sonic and that giant white paper fan (I did 200%+ on my friend at the local high school hangout).

I'd certainly have to go with 3. It may have been really long, but I certainly found it to be the funnest.

SMB3, definitly. It's probably the best platformer for the NES.SMB2 was....different, but not bad. All the characters except for the Princess blew though.SMB1 is classic, and still fun even today, ecspecially the minus world, but not quite as good as SMB3

Super Mario Brothers 1. I remember the first time I played I was almost banging my head against the wall constantly seeing "Thank you Mario, but our princess is in another castle." A plumber's work is never done.Plus it has the number one classic of all classic video game themes. My girlfriend won't touch a single video game but she knows the Super Mario Brothers theme from the first note to the last note. Plus on a personal note, it was the first NES game I ever played.

I actually liked SMB2 (USA), but I still have to throw in my vote with #3. As has been said once before, the Hammer Bros. suit sealed the deal for me. Sure, throwing fireballs is cool, but it has no link to reality (that I'm aware of). Chucking claw hammers, on the other hand....Also, the green wind-up boot was cool, if short-lived.

I loved 3 the most. There were so many powerups in that game. Raccoon suit rules!

Smash Bros. 1 wasn't very big and didn't have very much replay value compared to #2, which is my favorite.

Super Mario Bros 1 is cool, the second one is just a remake of another game but the third one has great controls, dozens of levels and little secrets to find.

For me it's definitely Super Mario Brothers 3. There's a lot of power ups, you can hold items for use whenever (a useful feature not used again to the extent it was used here, unfortunately), and it was quite the experience. Not to mention the vastness and freedom the game allows.

I have to say I like SMB1 the best. Though I am a little biased because it was my first NES game...
