Just finished Neal Stephenson's Anathem (totally brilliant book, I strongly suggest this author for anyone who likes sci-fi (it's not all set in the future and such, hard to describe. His stuff's good))Now I'm reading Perdido Street Station by China Mieville, also quite good.

A Series of Unfortunate Events is a good series. Timeline was a good book too, as well as Downriver. However, I hated The Great Gatsby.

Reading Inkspell(non-abridged novel for adults, not for kids, kay) right now. Got it yesterday, in the middle of it today. It's the second book for the Inkheart series, and it's real cool and nice. You gotta try it out.

Dan Brown has two other interesting books besides the "Da Vinci Code" in "Angels and Demons" and "Deception Point", and if anyone is a star wars fan look up the Darth Bane novels by Drew Karpyshyn. He also wrote the Mass Effect books. Sorry for putting a science fiction twist on this. <3

I'm reading the Westing Game. It's a really good mystery novel by Ellen Raskin. I just finished reading the Giver which was an intense science fiction novel that established the differences between a Utopia and a Dystopia.

I'm re-reading Xenocide, the third book in the Ender's Game series. And I don't mean to start any controversy or flaming or anything, but in my personal opinion, I think Twilight is garbage. I just had to say it. *puts up flame-shield*

I'm reading The Lost Highway by David Adams Richards right now. I'm not sure how many of you would like it; it's not action- or plot-based at all. It's character-based, and just a little story about this guy Alex Chapman and why he's such a bitter old man. It's actually pretty depressing but it's an interesting read for anyone who's into psychology and stuff like that.

Currently I am reading a tremendous series by Stephen King titled The Dark Tower. Most people normally associate King with horror novels, but this isn't the case. This series is a fantasy series, complete with all of the ingenuity found in a typical King novel. It is considered by King himself to be his life work, his greatest creation. I would recommend it to any fan of fantasy or science fiction literature. To the creator of this post, I commend your valiant effort in reading many of the classics. It can be tough goings at times, but stick with it. As Samuel Clemens once said, "A classic work of literature is one in which everyone wants to read, but noone actually reads." Which is even more true in todays time. The Scholar

I just finished re-reading A New Spring by Robert Jordan (I just re-read the whole series in the last 2 months or so) and I'm back onto Mort (its part of the discworld series) and since I'm almost done that I'm going to go hitup my dads bookshelves in the basement and look for something else. Maybe re-read the Casca the mercenary series again.

Ever heard of the novel The Once and Future King by T. H. White? It is a King Arthur re-telling with a bit of humor thrown in. If your into books like The Mists of Avalon then this read is for you.

To my embarrassment, I'm rereading Gone With the Wind right now. Guilty pleasure, though it's hard to believe how racist the novel is.My all-time favorites, though, are Tender is the Night (F. Scott Fitzgerald). I also love Kokoro (Natsume Soseki). Older Japanese lit generally has a minimalism and deep emotional undercurrent that makes it satisfying, if a bit slow.

I respect you for that statement. I just find those books so hollow, shallow, and meaningless. *Puts up flame-shield.*Anyways, I'm currently reading Dean Koontz's Frankenstein. Both the graphic novel as well as the book itself.
