Back when I was growing up, my parents tried to. Little did they know that I kept a spare handheld system hidden at all times in case I did something stupid and had my privileges revoked. There's nothing like a can of Mountain Dew, a Game Boy and a few hours less sleep to make you feel free again.

my parents didn't restrict me when i was little, could explain the wierd guy i am today. mortal kombat and time killers were in my game library...and they were never the ones to try and revoke my game systems, since they were bought for me and belonged to me, it was the tv that always got taken away. that belonged to them.

What's this have to do with DS?Anyways, yes. I've had my portables taken away when I was a kid. and when I'm studying now. Still, even after my advanced stuff is gone, Pokemon Silver is still fun.

Nope, i've never been restricted on anything, not even the TV, but if they took my PC away i think i would die.

they try to, and last month the actually succeeded. i had my mp4, ds and i wasnt allowed to use the computer taken off me last month for the whole month.

Nope, unless I had been acting bad, but usually they didn't care how much I played video games. Good thing too, cuz out of all my friends, all of who had their games regulated, I'm the only one who didn't drop out of high school.

i cant play games for more than like an hourthey restricted me from when i was little,but i dont mind, i think it's actually quite good for me

They never technichaly took my games away, they just grouded me in their room where there isn't ant console, just a tiny TV and they even tokk the TV's cables

When i was younger i wasn't allowed any game systems. We had a computer i could play on occasionally but the parentals needed it most of the time for work stuff. As soon as i moved away from home at 16 (i moved to go to music school, not cos i didn't get on with my parents) i got myself a gamecube. When i moved back home at 18 i got a proper job and saved up for a modded xbox. My parents didn't stop me then cos... well i was 18, i'd lived away for 2 years, i had bought it myself, etc. They weren't too happy when i bought my ds, but i got that when i was away visiting friends for a week and they weren't there to stop me, haha!

Never. Jack Thompson would probably use my mom as a 'bad example' of parenting. She was anxious for GTAIV's release. She's not a bad parent, she just happens to trust my perception of reality.Now that I'm legal enough to drink (even though I don't) they still don't worry about my profession in the future and support me all the way (video game art and design). I think if parents would just pay attention to what their kids are doing they wouldn't be so paranoid. They don't have to be ok with GTA or MK, but at least understand without pointing the finger and saying, "They're evil!!". Ignorance is never a good thing.
