My parents haven't really tried to restrict what games I play (Except for when my brother was about 10 years old and wanted to get Vice City)

My parents can't restrict me from what I play, because I am an adult.

They've tried, but I think they realise that it's really no big deal.

I don't have a time limit for my video games, but my parents do make me turn my systems off if we have to do something in which I can't play them during the something or if it is to late and I have to go to bed. I usually play my DS in bed when they think I'm asleep, though.

When I was younger apparently they thought too much video games would cut into my education (lol). Also they tried to stop me from playing violent video games thinking it would have adverse effects on my fragile psyche, and failed miserably.

I'm the game playing parent and mom, so I know what they have right now. Of course they're 4 and 7 so I do make sure thry're not wasting their day away. My son is hooked on Monster Jam though, and was behaving badly when he didn't get to play, so that game is on the "no play" list until he gets less obsessed about it.

This is funny because back in the day my parents wouldn't even let me play Ninja Gaiden. It was because it had a guy who uses swords and stabbed people in the game. Even if the stabbing was very cartoonish, Mom didn't like it for the violence. Compared to today's games, it's amazing that this was even an issue. Ahhh...the good ole days.Stevo
