It is not a good idea for me to have a throwable psp in my hands while playing this game. It's an interesting concept but it's just so picky about getting the rhythm just right and i keep getting myself killed. Anyone else played this one?

Yeah, when I first got it, staying in fever mode was a real pain. You just basically have to play nothing besides Patapon until you have the rhythm hardwired in your head.

And I had been thinking that my rhythm problem was because my control buttons had gotten messed up... Yeah, staying in fever mode is a pain, and since the evolution of the storyline makes this fever mode a must, it might sound pretty bad. But, come on, by the time you reach, say, the "fourth drum adventure", you should have assimilated how to keep the beat without much trouble... but, of course, sometimes it might get ugly when you're in the heat of battle and suddenly you misstep. Alright... lol

Maybe i just suck at it, but even after 4 hours of non-stop playing i still can't keep fever mode active, and as a result constantly get beaten to a pulp

I must suck at it too, because no matter how much I play I can't get the rhythm down. I've practically given up on the game after being unable to get past the first desert.

I think you guyz need to tap your foot while playing the game...When I 1st play the game my leg was tapping with the rythem...and started with the fever mode...but since it was my 1st time play I couldn't get to keep the fever mode going...But now I don't need to tap my foot any more...

The tapping foot technique should work for most of you as ash_burn97 said. Many musicians follow it to help them stay focused on the rhythm. I guess my music background helped me in this game 'cause I find it easy to stick in fever mode and have gone at least 10 minutes without breaking the chain. You have to relax and 'feel' the beat, not just do it mindlessly or else you're going to get frustrated. In the end I guess I'm just lucky 'cause my younger brother can't seem to play it right no matter how many times he tries.

lol i got the rhythm down in the first 5 minutes, when you first get into fever mode its kinda hard to stay in it cuz the patapons throw you off by yelling "FEEEEVERRRR!" but now everytime i get into fever mode i look at the border and see the rainbow border blink 4 times then start doing my drum part. its very easy now except sometimes it cuts off out of no where i think i go to fast sometimes
