fire emblem was always my most favorite one. next would be final fantasy followed by golden sun. they're all pretty close to each other though

My all-time favorite is Fire Emblem. That series is unbelievable and has tons of replay value. I've never played a single Final Fantasy game, and I certainly don't plan on doing so anytime soon. Golden Sun was also very fun, but it's different from FE. It has more of that classic RPG feel, you know, leveling a select few characters up and collecting hundreds of items and stuff. FE is like that, but toned down with the items and has more characters. The battles are also better and more fun.

Final Fantasy does it for me, it has just as good a storyline, and the graphics helps to tell the tale.

I have only played Fire Emblem and FF. All I can say is that Fire Emblem is better that FF basically because I have grown bored seeing a lot of FF series that doesn't do good justice in holding the FF franchise. Fire Emblem is something different, new and way more exciting and has lots of things to offer expecially character develpopment and the storyline

I'm going to have to default to Final Fantasy. Fire Emblem and Golden Sun, while both good, just never struck me as THE BEST OF THE BEST OF ALL RPGs, like it did with everyone else. Maybe I'm an old fashioned D&D nerd that likes to kill things in dungeons, but...not too big of a fan. That being said, Golden Sun and Final Fantasy definitely had better combat systems than Fire Emblem

For me it would have to be Golden Sun 1 and 2 mostly because There just fun and addictive, I actually came upon this site looking for a ROM for it to backup my game. (P.S. Golden Sun 3 is gonna come out for DS)

Fire Emblem, on all consoles, is the best one without a dout. i love that game.The characters seem better and it seems more interesting i think.

It's a toss up between Final fantasy tactics advance and Golden sun for me, I just got Fire emblem, about to start playing it tonight. Maybe it will change my mind, Hope it's as good as everyone says ^^

Ive played all three series and i would have to say fire emblem is at the top. Fire emblem lets you control a variety of characters (i like to replay the games with different character combinations). Golden Sun is a very solid and amazing RPG. I just think that Fire emblem is slightly better.fire emblem wins

Golden Sun's class system is godly, and their puzzles are prolly the best things I've seen outside of Zelda. However . . . The story is really basic, and thanks to plotholes (where's the ship from the first game?) and weak/superlfous dialogue, it really just doesn't really hold much water. When you're competing against the likes of Final Fantasy VI, you need an above average story to complement the strengths found in the gameplay, and Golden Sun just doesn't have that.

This is pertty hard to chose just one, I mean with Fire Emblem you have to use your head to win, Golden Sun had just four party members but man it was a great game and the Final Fantasy games I mean come on they have a history of great games and the two I have for my GBA are just great.

To me, story wise they are all good and nicly made. Though the playstyle also differs and make it interesting. FF is the standard RPG but had some nice spells and enemies as well characters. Fire emblem has a nice set up with axes swords spears etc and how your weapon can break if used to much. But it seems at times a mistake can happen to easily and you can end up with a screwed up army afterwords. Golden sun had some nice graphics and very different game play. It was more fast pace yet also funny scenes and all that. But some bosses just end up making the battles so annoying as it take about 5 extra levels to just to take it down.

I voted for emblem because im playing the DS version at the moment and its great but on reflection the golden sun games were awesome if memory serves me right.James

I would have to vote Fire Emblem. I've played most of the FFs but where most of the stories are awesome, the gameplay is quite repetitive, except for FFX, which had awesome gameplay and an awful story...I've played every Fire Emblem with the exception of FE10 (no Wii) and almost all of them have been challenging (I'm looking at you Sacred Stones), have had awesome gameplay (Sacred Stones and Genealogy of the Holy War for example), have awesome characters (with a few exceptions like Soren and Roy), and making GBA style sprites is awesome

I'd have to go with FF. Played Golden Sun, couldn't get into it. As for Fire Emblem, it's an alright game. But the Final Fantasy series has implemented many standards in console rpgs. Including, but not limited to: Well written cinematic stories, symphonic musical scores, the Active Time battle system, having multiple characters to customize the party etc. As well as introducing some of the most memorable characters/items/settings in the genre: Cloud Strife, Sephiroth, chocobos, moogles, Cid, airships.
