So my dad stayed home from work today and I just got back to discover he had deleted the majority of my game files. Then I (quietly) asked what happened and he told me it would be fun to start from the beginning again...and i don't want to play final fantasy from the beginning again. So to cope with my loss I was wondering what stories anyone may have of deleted memory I know that sometime someone may have had deleted your memory or maybe coping methods to the withdrawls that are soon to occur.

lololParents are idiots when it comes to video games.I would never let my parents even TOUCH my video games without my permission, because I'm sure that they would do something wrong. But anyways, it's not like they're even interested either.

My mother washed my pokemon blue when I was nine... heartbreaking because I had almost completed the pokedex. Heartbreaking is right though, my memory card broke once too, and I had to start FFVII-IX all over again. I agree, very disparaging. What a random thing for your Dad to do.

The worse was when I got a Christmas demo from the OPM magazine in '05 (I think it was '05). The demo was buggy and deleted all of my data from one of my memory cards. Wiped out about 10 game saves. I wanted to massacre the magazine company. Turns out it wasn't only that game, but every single demo in the magazine, so a lot of people were complaining over that.

Well there was this one time when my little brother accidentally overwrote my Final Fantasy VIII save, after I'd finally managed to get my hands on the 4 dragon fangs I needed to get Lionheart. :s Luckly I had a "backup" file, but that one was several hours older and I only had 2 dragon fangs on there. And recently our memory booster for the playstation 2 died and lost me several saved files, I'm not even sure how many or which game >_<

World of WarcraftOkay, it isn't truly memory deletion, but it's pretty close since it didn't save my loot. In the Temple of Atal'Hakkar/Sunken Temple, a magic sword called <Dragon's Call> dropped after we fought a boss. It's an epic-quality onehand sword that would make my rogue toon even more beastly. It has like, a drop rate of 2%, so it's never gonna drop again. My group consisted of:Me, 53 Blood Elf Rogue49 Troll Shaman (Elemental)56 Tauren Shaman (Resto)46 Forsaken Mage50 Forsaken PriestLuckily, I was the only one that could use swords. Since the sword is BoP, the group let me roll need on it so I could get it. I roll need, then the server crashes and stays down for a few minutes. When I log back in, I didn't have the sword. I was seriously pissed off.

I was replaying Pokemon Red way back when, and i had pokedex complete, all trainers defeated and a sizable link record. I was playing through the game from the beginning just for the hell of it and i had to turn of the GB for some reason. because i had gotten a fair distance into it (round 3rd gym), i absentmindedly saved over my full pokedex file (with a mew from a nintendo event) and blasted about 200 hours into oblivion. how my life goes.

My GameCube memory card was insane at one point. It deleted my Super Smash Bros. Melee memory about 3 or 4 times. It was a real pain in the ass, but at the same time, it didn't really bother me.

I lost my Super Smash Bros Melee save file so many times. Then I got good at unlocking like everything and it wasn't such a big issue. (faulty disc or something) I also lost my Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones save file! It sucked, I was close to the end.

I had about 60 hours logged on to FF8 and my friend "accidentally" saved over it. I still am not sure if it was truly an accident or an evil diabolical plan.

Hahaha, I was near the end of FF9 and my brother took the memory card out while I was saving. He didn't know I was saving and he needed to save his Digimon game (we shared memory cards on the ps1 since i had a lot of memory cards and his was full)

On Pokemon:TCG for Gameboy I was bored and experimenting with pulling the cartridge out and seeing the messed up glitches... The last time, the game reset, and I saw a title screen without a save file to load..

Worst experience....hmmm.(there are many)... probably the time I'd finished Call of Duty 4 on veteran, including the incredibly difficult Mile High Club level. Then my 6 Yo brother decides he wants to see whats in options... "delete all data"5 minutes later..."*My Name* I can't get into these levels!!! What's wrong???" In a babyish whining voice.
