So my dad stayed home from work today and I just got back to discover he had deleted the majority of my game files. Then I (quietly) asked what happened and he told me it would be fun to start from the beginning again...and i don't want to play final fantasy from the beginning again. So to cope with my loss I was wondering what stories anyone may have of deleted memory I know that sometime someone may have had deleted your memory or maybe coping methods to the withdrawls that are soon to occur.

I had a similar incident. I physically lost a memory card, and the biggest loss was my 60-hour save of Final Fantasy XII. I haven't felt like playing the game since, it's so sad .

I thought Missingno. was like a super pokemon, so I caught it and looked at it in my bag. My all self trained lvl 100 team was deleted. My young heart was broken.

My worst case scenario is when I lent my little sister my Pokemon Saphire game and she saved over it. I had the game for about a year and had all the rare pokemon and level 100s. I was not happy. :foldarms:

My brother got mad at me because I got pro at bowling before him on the wii, so he deleted my entire file by deleting the mii, so he is grounded. It is the way he thinks, it is just a game! who cares? but I really did get mad at him for purposely deleting all my precious progress

one time when i powered on my pokemon blue, i found that my character name had changed to my mother's.... i thought (or maybe hoped?) that it was a joke at first but then i just silently set down my gameboy and went to bed. haha. another time, my brother saved over one of the save files on my Dragon Warrior III game on the gameboy (why always the gameboy?!) just when i'd finally beaten Grandrgn and gotten the Rubiss Sword T-T. I was less courteous to him than I was to my mom.

Playstation 1. XD A friend of mine was really getting into the Final Fantasy series so I loaned him my PSX and copies of FF7-9. He played them all summer, but when he returned my PSX, he lost my memory card!! The memory card had ALL my game saves, which comprised almost exclusively RPGs (FF7-9, Vagrant Story, Xenogears, Parasite Eve, Chrono Cross, Legend of Mana... yeah I'm a S-E fanboy, so sue me :P ) So I lost literally HUNDREDS of hours of gameplay!!!A couple years later I got an itch to replay the classics and replayed through EVERY SINGLE ONE of the above listed games!! I played them all to 100% completion, too, and used FAQs on my second time around to get rare weapons/summons/secrets I missed. As it turns out, I REALLY enjoyed replaying them! XD

omg ! i would so kill my dad (okay i wont, but i'd be pretty pissed!)probably because most the savegames are really , really far into the gamefor example: final fantasy X .. im at 230+ hoursrestarted and had 130+ hours, and some others of blitzballing of around 90, and 2 of 20-30 hoursright now im at 130 or so hours again and lost all the previous.. which really sucked!

The worst I've been through was dealing with an idiot I once called a friend. We were playing a game he brought over, I managed to get farther then him, so while I slept, he copied my game save on to his PS2 memory card and then deleted my memory card. I had a nearly full card, probably around 18 games or so.Not the reason he's not a friend anymore, the kid had some serious problems.

The worst case I have ever seen didn't happen to me, but to one of my good friends and SSBM rivals. We, along with a bunch of friends, were at his house messing around and while we were watching TV, two of the other kids somehow managed to delete his save data for Super Smash Bros. Melee. The kid had about 270 trophies, and had unlocked everything else. The two kids claimed they had no idea what happened, but boy was my friend furious! I thought he was going to explode. Since then, he's tried to regain his former glory, but sort of lost heart halfway through. I feel really bad for the kid. I mean, have you any idea how many hours it must have taken? My worst story (not that bad) was when I was playing Crash Bandicoot. The "Save" and "Load" options aren't where you normally would expect they'd be, so I accidentally, clicked "Save" instead of "Load" and it saved over my save data with a brand new game starting from the very beginning! I swear, they set that game up so shit like that would happen! Not intuitive at all. And it was after I had beat the game and was going back to get all the time trial trophies and other goodies. Since that incident, I haven't touched the game.

I had an 120 hour game file on FFX with my sphere grids maxed out, everyone had their ultimate weapons and my blitzball stars had won over 200 games. That was a 5 year old game file. I can't remember my sister's excuse...I think it was either the power went out while she was saving or she accidentally saved over my file. Needless to say I was really upset.I thought I was doomed for the most part but 6 months later I found my second memory card which had an earlier copy (at about 100 hours). So it wasn't an entire loss, but I still lost some hard work (i.e. Lulu's second ultimate weapon item).

Oh man, the worse memory deletion i can think of right now is when I finally found my old Ps1 and wanted to replay Lunar: Eternal Blue. Come to find out that the memory card got corrupt for god knows why, and was quite upset! I really wanted to finish the epilogue. :her than that, try playing an ENTIRE RPG without saving. We (My sisters and I) didn't have a memory card for awhile and we played Harvest Moon Back to Nature, Final Fantasy 8 and 9 and Chrono Cross without Memory cards. Trust, you get SUPER good at RPGs and really do what it means to survive haha.
