I've had my ds a long time and i've found no flaws. Maybe it's just the lites that break like that.

I believe only the White and pink one can have the hinges start to crack. My brother has one of the Crimson red ones but because of the slightly tweaked design it's either fixed or just not noticable. Mine is slightly cracked, had for about five months. Works fine though, I take care of it good enough.

What I'm most unsatisfied with is that the screen keeps on getting smudged even though I'm not touching it with my fingers

I'd just say the touch screen controls thrown in to some games. For example, Spyro: Shadow Legacy. You can use the touch screen to go to look at the map and stuff which sounds alright but they also threw in some touch screen control for casting only up to six spells which you need very little (except for possibly the cyclone spell).

the most common flaw i see with the kids at work, is that the hinge on the first ed DS breaks...

I'd say really crappy touch-screen controls.I haven't had problems with my hinges breaking at all and I've had my DS since the original DS launched. The only physical problem with my DS is that the stylus spot doesn't hold in the stylus- it just lets it slip out.

my DS R button keeps breaking and theres been times when i never used it after its fixed and it just breaks and this is my third DS x.x

i personally think the flaw is the way the ds and the ds lite were made because the ds is stronger the the lite. lol

Well I know about hinges and such but I've never heard of the top screen going white.....

Never saw any crack on the hinge. The real problem I see with the DS is that the screen and shields scratch easily. Even though it's easy to clean for several times, it doesn't resist a couple of houers with my cousins, for instance... And I hate feeling the irregularity on the screen when sliding...

my hinges cracked too, but the screen didnt go white. but my top screen was broken and now if i play with my ds without holding the top, the top would break and the top would be unconnected. but my friend did have a broken screen though

Yeah, that IS probably the biggest flaw in the DS. My friend has a DS with a cracked hinge, but luckily the top screen still works.

i dont really think there is a problem except that its fragile
same here except i've had mine fer 2 and a half.....i think or more.....I've had my DS for 3 years and that has never happened to me.I guess it really depends on how you treat your DS...

I've had my first edition DS since it was released, and while it does take a beating it still has no problems except for a discolouration of the external case.I also open my DS with my hand, I've seen some people 'fling' the top screen open and shut. That can't be good for any hinges based around plastic
