You can go into sleep mode by closing the DS while playing.you cant go into sleep mode in ds (like the one in psp)so you have to safe your game frequently...

personally i've had 3 ds so far 1 phat 2 lites. the phat one got dropped so it cracked.I traded it for a white ds lite but I dropped that one too.now I have a red/black one and it works just fine.The most flawed part of the the DS is probably when your hinges crack and eventually, the top screen will go completly white permently!

One of my cousin's DS broke in half. My R button is also becoming a bit nonresponsive. not much of a problem though.

Mine has never done that, if that has ever happened the light broke, the person spilled something on it, or they just dropped it from to high of a place.

Mine's hinges never broke..I never touch the top part The greatest flaw?The fact that you attack the screen with a pointy object while playing games

Most hinge-breaking(On the Lite model, anyways) is because you push the screen ALL the way up. You can push it past the last "click", but you aren't supposed to. But my hinge is broken. =/

my Ds Lite is still in tip-top condition.I've had it for about a year now,I'm amazed, because i'm not the most careful person in the world.I'm quite clumsy, really.

I've heard plenty about the DS lite hinge flaws, it was what kept me from buying one to replace my original DS. That and my original (fat) DS works perfectly still.The only complaint I have about my DS is the volume control. The volume starts working when the slider is half-way to full power and it's too loud. I have to nudge it around to get it softer without it going completely silent on me.Anybody else have this problem?

I've had no flaws so far that were caused by the DS itself. There are many flaws that I caused but... thats beside the point.

The only flaw I see with mine is how easily the top of the Lite gets dirty. >:/ My fingerprints make the DS look a bit...Well, gross.Other than that, it's nearly perfect.

Im careful with my DS and have had no problems. The only thing that bugs me a tad is the washed out colors.

Oh my word. Don't tell me this now. I've been using my lite for quite while and it has't given me problems apart from the fact that the screen getting scratched in the middle but I think almost everyone here has that problem. Is there anything else that can go wrong besides the hinges cracking and is there some way to prevent that ffrom happening?

My touch screen is a little "off" around the edges. For the most part it works fine but if I have to draw along the bottom of the screen or the far right side, the stylus will draw a little to the right of where my stylus is pressing. Obviously I can draw to the left of where I want the point to be but it can be a little annoying but thankfully it's not that big a deal.Sadly I can't even recalibrate to fix it. If I fix it to fix the corner that is off, the rest of the screen will be off.Stevo

I think it is just hard sometime to use the pen when there are spots where you can't get at.
