The most flawed part of the the DS is probably when your hinges crack and eventually, the top screen will go completly white permently!

I've honestly never had a hinge break :o My friends would show me their broken DSes and I'd just kind of look at my spotless one and wonder how they were treating their DSes that made them die like that.

If you play rpg's a lot you realize... your "A" button is quite fragile. Mine is almost to the point its not working, same for the R button meanwhile my L button is on the verge of breaking. Just makes me wonder how much money they actually spent to make them.

Thankfully, I don't have that problem..I have Icy Blue, and I don't want it to break...

I have Ice Blue too, had it for more than a year and it didn't break yet. But for mine, every time I play New super mario brs, it always seems to freeze up in the middle of a level. Maybe its just the game, but my friend shares the game with me and it only freezes on mine. Luckily I have finished the game and I can save each time :)Forgot to mention how if you have pink, white or ice blue, or any other colour with a sort of clearish shell around the actual ds, dirt can get in to the clear case part and make ur ds get really dirty, and you cant take it out.

I keep hearing people mention that with the screens/hinges, and yet, I'ven ever had that happen, nor have I even known anyone it's happened to. I don't think it's THAT common....y'all must be doing *something* to provoke it!

i won't buy a DS, but my friend's has never had a problem, except the control buttons touched the top screen and left an imprint she had to rub off everytime. people who kill DS's need to be more careful...

The most common flaw is how the screen gets pretty dirty or smudged without the stylus.Apart from that, my DS is fine.

For anybody not knowing: the thing the topic maker is talking about is a flaw that only occurred with the original DS phat (that bulky grey thing). The screen would snap if you would turn it back too far. Although I have a DS phat I always set my screen at an angle because I knew of this flaw. If you would go to the second click too many times you have a possibility of the hinges snapping and thus literally breaking your DS in two (apart from some wires that connect the two screens).Nintendo solved this problem with the DS lite and anything after, therefore most people don't experience this problem.

Oh you're talking about how the hinge that still feels like its gonna break...It has the locking position and the opened entirely to damned far position...Not my favorite feature to the ds or the sp...

I find myself wondering when the hinges will finally give out, but if I could wish for one change it would be a more recessed GBA slot. Yes, it's awesome that they even included the GBA slot at all, but I really don't like that I can't just put it in my pocket if I have a GBA game cartridge inserted into it. The ability to slide the DS into my pocket at a moment's notice is one of its biggest selling points for me, but it only works if I'm playing a DS game.

I've never had that, but it does seem that the top screen can break off somewhat easyer than it should
