I'm skeptical about pokemon nowadays...It bugs me that the pokemon have the weird looks and that you can't actually catch all the pokemon in d/p, but ill still prolly buy this'n if it is an expansion on d/p

Based on the following received from various Japanese magazines, the following is supposed to be true:- The title is Platinum, but is subject to change before the American (or even the Japanese) release.- The game now centers around Giratina, rather than Palkia or Dialga.- Giratina will be receiving a new form like Deoxys.- There is to be a Battle Island, very similar to the Battle Frontier in Emerald.- The trainers you play as will be receiving new costumesThe following are mere rumors without any substance behind them whatsoever. These are probably false:- There are going to be 50+ new Pokemon. (The only confirmed new Pokemon are just different forms of Giratina.)- All of the other legendaries without a larger role will be a part of the before-game's-end storyline. (Most of them are just as questionable as before.)- Regigigas is to receive a flying form. (WTH? Still unconfirmed to be false, but still...)- Shaymin is to have an ice form. (Same as Regigigas.)Basically, it should be the Crystal and Emerald for Diamond and Pearl. :/

I don't even think this idea is that great.Giratina wasn't even that special to me in Diamond. I don't see what role he has to play. Maybe Darkrai, but Giratina is just a little out there for me.And if it's like emerald, I suppose Dialga and Palkia will BOTH be obtainable. XD They just need to make "Pokemon: Illustrious Glistening Gem" That contains all continents

As a response to the topic creator, yes. Its true that there is a game coming out as the expansion of Diamond and Pearl named "Pokemon Platinum".

Its official and as for Giratina not seeming to be special, thats probably because Nintendo wanted to cover up its importance. Don't forget, they're releasing a movie on Giratina for the 10th movie.

I cannot wait for platinum to come out and the sky forme of shayamin looks hecka awesome. plus the new look of the protagoninst is pretty cool and the guy does not look like a loser anymore.

So. They're "Forme"s now. Regular spelling isn't good enough for these people. That being said, at least the new ones look pretty neat and they're adding a new area to make things more interesting.

XD; I'm interested... That weird world thing is a nice addition in there... I can't wait until the Japanese one comes out and I'll see how good it is. I'll definitely buy it when it comes out in English o.O

i read somewhere about a pokemon "platinum" being out for the japan market as an expansion for diamond and pearl but nothing about a "topaz"

Pokemon Platinum...it looks like a DP Emerald, sadly. But I bet its still fun to play, since its 4th Gen!lol

Trailer is pretty interesting. After playing Pearl for over 230 hours and getting over 400 pokemon in my pokedex (captured) I don't know if I'm gonna replay this unless it has a large amount of new features, not just one or two here and there like in this current one. I already got Regigigas in my Pearl, so idk if it'd be worth just playing it again so it has a little more story behind catching him.

I don't know if it is called Platinum, but I'm pretty sure the version for Diamond and Pearl is gonna come out.It's just like Emerald and Crystal version.

i have almost all eh pokemon, all im missing is mew, jirachi, celibi, and shaymin. ill probly play platinum no matter what, but it would be cool if it offered a way to get the shaymin.
