Lolno. Steam is terrible and I'm not exactly swimming in free hard drive space. Hard drives are getting cheap but when PC games are clocking in at around 10 GB (Team Fortress 2 is ~8 GB fresh installed), its hard to justify a ~4 hour download time vs. a ~30 minute install time to play a PC game.

Steam is actually a very good way of sharing medium, the only issue is they screw Australia over and charge us more for less. SO nope, we don't use steam. We actually try to activly boycott it due to its nurturing of thievery and over pricing.

Steam sucks imo... Playing MP on it is hell, and buying game on it? no thx... i rather spent 15min going to the storre getting a game and around 5min installing a game than spent 4-6h downloading a game on steam...

Naw, i use a good ol' handy Best Buy or Gamestop.I just like the safe feeling of it being physically here right now to comfort the ache of the money which is no longer burning a hole in my pocket.~Scy

I don't because steam is unreliable and as I am a java coder I know the number one thing to look at before using any program is reliability.

Contrary to many people here, I only buy my PC games on steam. 1. Updates are pre-managed for me so I don't have to go looking to see if they have been released.2. Works as an excellent backup system. Even if I lost all my backup copies and my PC, I'd still have my games.3. Very often, the prices are lower than retail or close to it (e.g. Plants Vs. Zombies is $9.99 on steam but $19.99 to buy online on PopCap's site)4. WEEKEND DEALS!!!! ...and promos too such the current one where you pre-order the new Call of Juarez and get the first one for free.5. All my games are essentially portable kept neatly together making it easier to do manual backups (just copy over the steamapps folder to a backup HDD and I'm done..6. Several game that had DRM like SecuROM have a steam release which is DRM free.

I do, cause gamestop are well.... those who have had problems with gamestop know what they are.... and best buy is unreliable when it comes to new pc games, plus deal of the week and software collections ftw

I certainly buy my games where I can on Steam, prices are crazy high for video games in New Zealand. It is not unheard of for the price difference between a game on steam and in store to be up to 50NZ$ (about 32US$). I have also found their download speed to be of little problem, although internet is another problem area in NZ so perhaps my expectations are lower? (lol I rock at selling my country)

Yes but in Australia we have a download limit and once you use up all of it your speed drops to 8kb/s. Its good because its a lot cheaper on steam.
