Oblivion Glitch

I cant Complete the first quest "May the Best Thief Win" the map shows that the dairy is in the case but its not therethe female thief has it(forgot her name) but when i try to steal it, it wont appear in my inventory

just go back to the meeting place where you first met armand christophe for the quest and if you get there before Methredhel you should complete the quest. If that does not work, let her beat you there and then wait a few nights and go back to armand and he will give you another quest so you can join the thieves guild. you just have to steal a sword from "the fighting chance". and the thieves guild and dark brotherhood questlines are my personal favorite.
